Supernatural star Jensen Ackles is set to debut as Soldier Boy in the upcoming third season of of The Boys, but the actor has now revealed that he has another comic book-based project in the early stages of development.
Although he wasn't prepared to spill many (well, any) details, Ackles told former Smallville costar Michael Rosenbaum that he's working on a DC-based property during an appearance on his podcast.
"There is a DC property that I'm currently developing right now with Warner Bros. and some other good partners that I've got my fingers crossed for," Ackles responded when asked if there was any Marvel or a DC project he would want to be a part of. "But, again, I'm not going to talk about it because I don't want to jinx it."
With so little to go on, it's obviously difficult to make any solid predictions, but we're going to assume it's something for the small screen. Ackles has a long working relationship with The CW (we know the network is still producing DC-based content), but it could also be a new HBO Max show.
Of course, the actor is no stranger to the animated side of the DC Universe having voiced Jason Todd in Batman: Under the Red Hood and The Dark Knight himself in the two-part adaptation of Batman: The Long Halloween, so another animated feature is also a possibility.
Whatever it is, it sounds like it's very early days, so it might be a while before we get any updates. If it does turn out to be a live-action role, which DC character would you most like to see Ackles suit-up as?
