It’s been called the definitive work on military strategy and tactics. Sun Tzu’s seminal Art of War has influenced warfare for hundreds of years. From battlefields to Boardrooms and beyond, there has never been a work more important when it comes to strategy and preparation. Until now! Today, Marvel is proud to present your first look at DEADPOOL’S ART OF WAR #1 – the first chapter in a new 4-issue limited series adapting its classic and iconic namesake! from New York Times Bestselling writer Peter David (All-New X-Factor, The Incredible Hulk) and fan-favorite artist Scott Koblish (Deadpool)!
The Merc With a Mouth knows a thing or two about combat and tactics, and he’s gearing up to write his own version of Art of War. It’s in the public domain so it’s totally ripe for being ripped off. Times change, and today we have heat seeking missiles and automatic machine guns so how accurate can the original book really be?
Only it’ll take more than a great book if Deadpool wants to outsell the original. His plan? Cause enough war and chaos around the globe so that they’ll have to buy his book! Though he’ll get more than he bargained for when the Asgardians, Avengers, X-Men and more get involved. Be there when military strategy takes a gigantic leap forward in DEADPOOL’S ART OF WAR #1 this October!

Nice parody. One can only wonder how the movie pulls it off
If he breaks the 4th wall in 3-D, will he have broken through to the 5th wall? or how many walls is that, like seven? So many questions..

Deadpool is a cool character. I read his comics.

In no way should Rob "worst artist/writer of comics" Liefeld get any credit or money from the upcoming DP film.
Despite Liefeld creating him originally as a blatant rip off of DC's Deathstroke,it was other comic creators who made DP the character we all enjoy.

Only way Liefeld should be involved is a cameo in the movie where DP says to him.."Look daddy,I'm better without you now." Then DP cuts off Rob's hands, drives a sword into his mouth & urinates over the dead body.

I wonder if he will bastardize the philosophical rationale of Sun Tzu?

"Keep your friends close. But keep the smelly downwind."

"Regard your soldiers as your children, except don't try to hug 'em or sit 'em on your lap because there are laws against that kind of shit."

"Making no mistakes is what establishes the certainty of victory. It also makes you a boring-ass goody-two-shoes, like Captain America. Seriously, how much semtex would we need to blast that stick out of his ass?"

Deadpool, as interpreted by the legendary Peter David? Is this... heaven?

I never knew I wanted this. David is a brilliant writer, and I can't wait for his presentation of the Merc With a Mouth!
