Joker star Zazie Beetz proved to be one of the many highlights of 2018's demented Deadpool sequel, and fans have been eager to see more of her take on Domino ever since.
The exceedingly lucky mutant's story was set to continue in the now defunct X-Force movie and beyond, but those plans screeched to a halt when 20th Century Fox's assets were acquired by Disney. Fortunately, Ryan Reynolds will be back as the Merc With a Mouth for Deadpool 3, but will Beetz be joining him in the MCU sandbox?
The actress has been asked about her potential return as Domino several times while doing the press rounds to promote Bullet Train, and while she's given fairly noncommittal answers up until now, she did give a slightly more telling response during a recent interview with THR.
“Well, I can’t, obviously, really say anything, but I feel lucky. I just can’t really divulge or say anything, so we’ll see, I suppose,” Beetz said with a laugh.
It's not exactly confirmation, but we're going to take that "I feel lucky" as a pretty good indication that Beetz will indeed reprise the role of Domino for Wade Wilson's next outing!
Shawn Levy will direct Deadpool 3, which is being developed as Marvel Studios' first R-rated movie.
Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick recently gave fans some idea of what to expect from the plot when they described the threequel as a "fish-out-of-water story" that will "drop a lunatic into a very sane world." They also suggested that the powers that be have been very "hands off," and nothing is off limits for ol' Deadpool to "poke fun at."
