20th Century Fox Home Entertainment officially announced today that Once Upon A Deadpool, the recent PG-13 re-release of their summer blockbuster Deadpool 2 will be arriving on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD on Tuesday, January 15.
This is undoubtedly a fairly quick home video turnaround for a film that was just in theaters a few short weeks ago, which does essentially suggest it was likely in the works long before the new cut debuted in theaters last month.
While the Blu-ray doesn't seem to contain any special features - or at least not any new special features - a purchase will still help a good cause as 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has pledged to donate $1 for every purchase to Fudge Cancer, the same charity the studio also donated $1 for each ticket purchased during the film's festive theatrical release.
Once Upon A Deadpool capped off its limited two-week engagement with just over $7 million ($6.01M domestic; $993K foreign), which is a pretty successful haul for a re-release that opened in the same year as its original. The worldwide total for Deadpool 2, with both releases combined, is now $741.5 million ($324.5M domestic; $417M foreign), making it the eighth-highest grossing film of the year and the third-highest grossing X-Men film, behind only Deadpool ($783.1M) and X-Men: Days of Future Past ($747.9M).
