STRANGER THINGS Star David Harbour Eyed For Cable Role In DEADPOOL 2
Despite speculation that Pierce Brosnan has been cast as Cable in Deadpool 2, a new report claims that Stranger Things fan-favourite David Harbour is being eyed to play the time-travelling mutant.
According to The Wrap, David Harbour is now being eyed to take on the role of Cable in Deadpool 2. The Stranger Things star has reportedly screen-tested alongside Ryan Reynolds, but he has not yet been cast as the fan favourite mutant. The actor is also known for The Newsroom, Suicide Squad, and Black Mass, but it was the Netflix drama which arguably put him on the map.
Collider backs this report up and adds that Michael Shannon (Man of Steel) was recently in the mix before scheduling issues led to him having to drop out. Now that would have been fun to see!
Deadpool 2 doesn't have a release date just yet, so Fox has plenty of time to find the right actor for the role. Harbour would be an interesting pick, though, and if he does end up playing Cable, we'll see him in the X-Men Universe for a long time to come. After all, it's thought that the hero will play a key role in X-Force, while his time-travelling abilities could lead to cameos all over the place!
The two sources mentioned above are more than a little hit and miss, so for now, definitely put this one down as a rumour. With any luck, we'll hear something official soon, but stay tuned for updates.
