Confirming rumors that have been doing the rounds for quite a while, Deadline is reporting that both Leslie Uggams and Karan Soni will reprise their respective roles from the first two Deadpool movies for the upcoming MCU-set threequel.
Soni played Wade Wilson's taxi driver and eventual pal Dopinder, while Uggams portrayed his loyal roommate Blind Al.
They join Ryan Reynolds as the titular Merc With a Mouth, and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. The Crown alum Emma Corrin is also on board as a mysterious villain, and we found out on Tuesday that Succession star Matthew Macfadyen has signed on for an undisclosed role.
Plot details remain under wraps for now, but Wade and Wolvie are expected to find themselves (trapped?) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A recent rumor claimed that Loki's TVA, including Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Miss Minutes, will be involved. We have also been led to believe that Wade's MCU debut will be far more integral to Phase 5 and beyond than we first realized.
Jackman posted an image of Deadpool's mask alongside Wolverine's signature headpiece earlier this year, leading to speculation that we might finally see Logan in his classic yellow costume.
Shawn Levy will direct Deadpool 3, which is set to hit theaters on September 6, 2024.
