DEADPOOL 3: Morena Baccarin Confirms Talks To Reprise The Role Of Vanessa

Morena Baccarin played Vanessa Carlyle in the first two Deadpool movies, and the Firefly alum has now confirmed that she is in talks to reprise the role for the Shawn Levy-directed threequel.

The Merc With a Mouth (Ryan Reynolds) will be making some new friends when he makes his MCU debut in Deadpool 3, but we know that a few of his old pals will also be along for the ride.

It was recently confirmed that both Blind Al and Dopinder will be back, and we have heard rumblings that Cable and Domino will also feature. But what about the most important person in Wade's life?

Vanessa Carlyle (Morena Baccarin) was introduced as Deadpool's love interest in the first movie, and even though she only had a minor role in the sequel, the character was a huge part of the anti-hero's arc.

Of course, Vanessa was killed-off at the beginning of Deadpool 2, but the door was left open for her return when Wade used Cable's (Josh Brolin) time-travel device to go back and prevent her death.

Baccarin has now confirmed that she has had discussions about returning as Vanessa, but it sounds like both parties have yet to agree to a deal.

"I'd like to be in it," the Firefly alum told Michael Rosenbaum on his podcast. "They have called me about being in it. We have not agreed on terms, and everybody's trying their best, and doing their best. It may or may not work out. I don't know."

Plot details remain under wraps for now, but Wade and Wolvie (Hugh Jackman) are expected to find themselves (trapped?) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A recent rumor claimed that Loki's TVA, including Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Miss Minutes, will be involved.

We have also been led to believe that Wade's MCU debut will be far more integral to Phase 5 and beyond than we first realized.

Shawn Levy will direct Deadpool 3, which is set to hit theaters on September 6, 2024.
