DEADPOOL 3 Star Hugh Jackman Shares BTS Look At His Wolverine Prep As Shooting Nears End

As Marvel Studios continues to put the finishing touches to Deadpool 3, Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman has taken to social media to show the work that goes into achieving his Logan physique. Check it out!

Deadpool 3 is rumoured to be mere weeks away from finishing shooting, presumably meaning Marvel Studios has taken this opportunity to also schedule its usual reshoots (the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes will have limited their ability to make too many alterations in post-production).

We ended last week with new set photos from the threequel and even some promo art showcasing Hugh Jackman's Wolverine fully suited up, mask and all.

The actor has since taken to social media to share some insights into how he prepares for his transformation into the clawed mutant and it's fair to say the 55-year-old is in insane shape. Many fans have questioned why Jackman isn't showing off his arms while suited up as Wolverine, though we've heard the sleeves will eventually be torn to complete the fully comic-accurate look.

Last year, the Deadpool 3 star revealed what led to him returning to the Marvel Universe after bidding farewell to the X-Men hero in Logan

"When I keep thinking of me and Ryan, of Deadpool and Wolverine, which are classic comic-book rivals, there's also a dynamic that I've never really got to do before as Wolverine. I just thought, 'This is gonna be fun. Something I've never done before. I can't wait.'"

Jackman added that he "honestly" thought he was "done" playing Wolverine before the script for Deadpool 3 came his way. "I was at peace with it. I got asked every day, either in interviews or Ryan Reynolds [saying,] 'Can we do it again?' and I'm like, 'No, I'm done.'"

"I'll probably have more fun on this movie than any other I've ever done," the actor concluded.

You can watch how Jackman transforms into the MCU's Wolverine by checking out the video below.

Alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Deadpool franchise vets Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), and Rob Delaney (Peter) are all confirmed to return in Deadpool 3.

Emma Corrin is expected to play Cassandra Nova, while Matthew Macfadyen will likely take on the role of a TVA agent named Paradox. The trades have confirmed that Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra, with Wesley Snipes, James Marsden, Famke Janssen, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Dafne Keen, and even singer Taylor Swift among those rumoured to make cameo appearances.

Deadpool 3 is set to be released in theaters on July 26, 2024.

I hope the movie is good, but i cant help but be worried that it's being rushed. Marvel really needs it to be a hit!

@UniqNo - what all have you seen that indicates it's being rushed?

@Dabs - This movie started filming shortly before the strikes and was the shut down during the strikes for however long that went on. I beleive less than half was shot. They started up again this year or in December (and are still filming) with less than 6 months to go before release. Don't forget the need for promotion etc which usually start going heavy about 6 weeks before release.

Captain America 4 was mostly shot and done, but got pushed to 2025, to add in some reshoots etc to allow further time and polish (though this maybe has to do with stuff going on in Isreal and not wanting to put it out right now it bad taste).

If they can delay that i don't see why they couldn't delay this to add axtra polish etc. but icould be wrong.

I have a feeling this will be the billion dollar film Marvels been needing lately.
Can’t wait to see the trailer… cbm “sources” say the trailers coming during the Super Bowl.

@slickrickdesigns - it's obvious they'd show the trailer on the most viewed event of the year lol

@bobevanz - obvious but confirmed by no one at the studio.. just rumors from “sources”. And sources are correct 1 out of 100 times, soooooooo?

I like Hugh huge. Don’t care if his legs are thinner than mine as an intermediate waffle.

I’m guessing this will cross the billion mark. R rated is not a barrier to big numbers if there’s a lot of hype around it.

yeaaa, filming to end by February and movie release 5 months later? I"m not liking those odds for effects heavy movie. the last big movie I can think of that did that was one of the mission impossibles but that's mostly shot on location etc.

@litobirdy - surely you consider this a good thing no? Haven’t you idiots been complaining about these films having too much/bad effects for like the last year and a half

@litobirdy - Remember, they were still doing a teeny-tiny amount of filming and post on Endgame a month before its release. Tony's "I am Iron Man" scene was shot one month before Endgame dropped. Five months, I think it's possible for the VFX to look clean.

Let's also not forget the accusations that Marvel had crazy demands for VFX artists that turned into crazy amounts of hours worked. Marvel will make something happen if they need it to, LOL.

@TheloniousJay - Like only giving them one movie to work on, reducing the workload considerably.

@TheloniousJay - yea but I mean principal photography to film release, that window seems very small for deadpool 3, a big heavy effects movie

Typical celeb only working their “glamour muscles”
Dabs
Dabs - 1/22/2024, 10:27 AM
@AnthonyVonGeek - lmao the entire point of them working out is to work out the glamour muscles. they're not actually doing it for functional reasons.
RedFury
RedFury - 1/22/2024, 11:01 AM
@AnthonyVonGeek - if you mean his legs, they're actually pretty big. It's just how he's sitting on the bench that makes them look thin. Gravity pulling everything down as he flexes his legs to keep his posture. You can see how built his thighs are by the shape of them. Plus look at the size of his calves.

@RedFury - they do look a little bigger then they did here. 🤣😜

I think it was for "The Wolverine" he posted to his socials doing some crazy amount of lifting on the weights. He was jacked then. He seems more leaned-out in this latest workout vid. Props to him for still looking pretty good in his later years.

I've always found it so funny Hollywood pumps actors full of gear and they put out videos of them working out with terrible form and looking like they barely know how to lift weights.
