"Let's [frick]ing go!"
As promised, a brand new trailer for Marvel Studios' Deadpool & Wolverine has arrived, offering a fresh look at what's to come this summer when the Merc with a Mouth (Ryan Reynolds) teams up with Weapon X (Hugh Jackman) to save the multiverse before it's all too late, and it looks like things are going to get increasingly more wild as the duo traverse the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While plot details have understandably been kept under wraps, the trailer reveals that the story will pick up with Deadpool finding his universe under threat and seeking out Wolverine to help him save his friends. However, it seems as though this isn't the exact same Wolverine we knew from the Fox X-Men films (i.e. not the one that died in Logan), but it's apparently a Wolverine variant from a separate universe that failed to save his own world from erasure.
After a quick and bloody tussle, it sounds like good 'ol Wade Wilson is successful in convincing Logan to come out of retirement and help him in his quest where they find themselves up against a powerful new foe, played by Emma Corrin, who the trailer reveals has psychic abilities, possibly confirming a popular rumor that she would be portraying the devastatingly dangerous Cassandra Nova.
There's plenty more to break down from the trailer as well, including a number of cameos, so keep scrolling to check out the trailer, new stills, and posters!
In addition to Reynolds and Jackman, the supporting cast consists of Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa Carlysle), Stefan Kapičić (Piotr Rasputin/Colossus), Rob Delaney (Peter W.), Brianna Hildebrand (Eloise Phimister/Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, and Jennifer Garner (Elektra).
Several former X-Men cast members and a handful of MCU veterans have also been rumored to appear in various capacities - head over HERE to learn out more about who may (or may not) appear in the upcoming Marvel blockbuster.
