DEADPOOL Star Ryan Reynolds Promises Threequel Updates Coming "Sooner Rather Than Later"

Though he didn't reveal anything specific, The Adam Project star Ryan Reynolds has promised that updates regarding Deadpool 3 will be with us "sooner rather than later." Could Shawn Levy direct?

It's been a while since we had any solid updates on Marvel Studios' plans for Deadpool 3, but if star Ryan Reynolds is to be believed, we won't have to wait too much longer for some kind of official announcement.

While chatting to Collider about his latest Netflix movie, The Adam Project, Reynolds was asked about the threequel and whether he and director Shawn Levy have ever discussed collaborating on the movie.

“We pretty much talk about everything," said the actor. "But I'll say this about that particular subject: I'll have a batch of updates on that sooner rather than later, I hope. So I'll be able to get into stuff about Deadpool a little bit more clearly and definitively down the road.”

Could Levy end up helming the project? It sounds like an idea that may have been tossed around, and the pair have already struck gold together with Free Guy. Either way, it's good to hear that some more details on the film should be coming our way shortly.

Right now, all we really know about Deadpool 3 is that it will be rated R, and Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin are currently working on the script. There are rumors that the Merc With a Mouth could show up in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but Reynolds recently denied any involvement.

R-rated X-Force series please with him traveling through time and universes to [frick] up different MCU events... with the TVA showing up to connect it to Loki.

@Unites - With a 4th wall quip, about his team not being completely DOA on arrival this go round. Watching them die was all kinds of hysterical.

MoM would be a great time for him to show up. It's been long enough since his last appearance.

With this lazy timing, the movie will get made probably after Reynolds celebrates his sixties. (joke)

Even tho I don't like his Deadpool, there MUST be a What If episode titled: ''Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe.''

It’d be great if Deadpool appears in Multiverse of Madness just to cameo and he asks “how was I brought here? It was probably Mephisto.”

Define "sooner" and define "later".

I hope it happens sooner cause i miss that suit on the screen, and it fits completely fine with the MCU aestethic

Definitely feels like it could be a director announcement. Or maybe a release date. Maybe even announcing his appearance in Multiverse. He does say there's "a batch", so maybe it's all of those, and more.

Deadpool is the easiest Fox property to bring over in my opinion. His second film ended with him manipulating time. They could easily write that the Kang from his reality has an issue with this and has him pruned. This sends him to the Void and we discover the Void is the center of every multiverse. The One Above All Lives within the void and Alioth is the guard dog protecting the void from threats. And He Who Remained figured out how to exist within Alioth which is a realm within itself. This allows Deadpool 3 to take place within the void with him finding his way out and meeting various characters from different realities along the way and then ending with him existing the void into the MCU.
