The fallout when this movie disappoints at the box office may be huge. DP's been EVERYWHERE recently, but when this fails, he may slowly dissipate into comic book character obscurity, like what happened to Daredevil and GL after their crap movies. It will be a sad fate for such a popular character. He could survive that crappy video game, but I don't think he could survive this.

There's just too many factors for this to be hugely successful. R rating which turns off many families and kids(this industry's biggest moneymaker), release in February which is notorious for being the time when bad movies are dumped, overall zaniness that will confuse/annoy audiences used to MoS and the MCU, people not really caring about the characters origin, etc. At best it will break even.

I guess you didn't hear about the success of Kingsman: The Secret Service no? Film might have been pretty meh, but it most likely proved that R-Rated comic book movies couldn't do a great financial job at the box office.

Fear not! I have arrived! You son of a bitch...

@ManCalledSting

Ambassador is just messin around. He's a bro.

On topic. This is awesome. Love the Home Alone reference for Christmas time. Everything about the marketing for this movie is incredible.

@Toonstrack

R-rated movies are making a resurgence. As long as they're quality, they're doing well. 21 and 22 Jump Street, Neighbours, Kingsmen, just a few examples. Deadpool will do an easy $250-$300 million worldwide, and that's a low ball estimate. With good word of mouth, it could creep up on $400 million. And with its tiny budget, that's damn good profit.

@TheRationalNerd I am getting there as early as would be necessary! How can I be safe when there will undoubtedly be grown men dressed as jedi with large blunt weapons? Lol

On another note Deadpool seems to have a lot of marketing, but minimal legitimate footage from the film. I am getting worried that they are hiding something (not a Trevor Slattery though)

I have a feeling this movie will not do as well as you guys are hoping. I never liked deadpool still don't the style of comedy they use is to on the nose and childish which is why I think this will fail because a lot of deadpool fans are kids/teens
