New DEADPOOL Image Sees The Merc "Trying To Connect" With 'Negasonic Teenage Warhead'

Ryan Reynolds has just tweeted another still image from the highly-anticipated Deadpool movie and it features the titular Merc With a Mouth hilariously "trying to connect" with the goth Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand). Check it out after the jump!

Things have been a bit quiet on the Deadpool front ever since the trailer(s) debuted last month, but leading man Ryan Reynolds has taken to Twitter to break the dead air with a new official image. It shows the Merc With a Mouth "trying to connect" with Brianna Hildebrand's Negasonic Teenage Warhead by reading a Judy Blume novel for children and young adults. Check it out below!

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life. Directed by Tim Miller, while starring Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa Carlysle), T.J. Miller (Weasel), with Ed Skrein, and Brianna Hildebrand (Ellie Phimister), the much-hyped Deadpool is scheduled to open in theaters on February 12, 2016.

some pics just get a bit repetitive.

They should try to promote the other characters too, I feel. I mean... the movie has COLOSSUS, an actual X-Man, so one would guess they would want to make it a bigger deal, instead of showing Negasonic over and over, and from the same set/angles

The thing about Colossus is that he won't even have any dialogue in the movie. Cudmore claimed that the reason why he didn't do this film in particular was because Colossus has no lines in the movie. Deadpool looks and sounds like it's really going to push Fox in a new direction but they still have a bad habit of shoving their side characters to the side, whether it be through dialogue or action (luckily it looks like it won't be a problem here)

@TheOracularNerd I believe Daniel Cudmore didn't take the role because Colussus is going to be completely CGI and the voice was going to be dubbed, not because of lack of dialogue. He would have been pretty much nothing more than a stand in for the performance.

Colussus actually did have dialogue in the leaked script, which the trailers show they stayed pretty close to, but Negasonic Teenage Warhead wasn't in that version of the script so we'll just have to wait and see if Colussus retains his dialogue or gets reduced to the X3 version where his only line of dialogue was "yeah, I think she took off".

@TheOracularNerd - Cudmore said he didn't take the role because HE wouldn't have any dialogue, not because Colossus wouldn't have any dialogue. They want Colossus to be Russian and huge.

I do think this movie looks cool. Great to see them being faithful to the comics for a change. I just don't hold out hope that this is a sign of things to come from the Fox-Men universe. I expect Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse to be more of the same for the movie X-Men.

Colossus has lines in the movie. The leaked script had many lines.

Thats not the real reason Daniel Cudmore isnt returning.

The director wanted a rusian Colossus this time around. And Daniel wanted to appear in his natural form, so those two reasons are part of the reason.

Man, y'all sure do be listening to a brotha when he's wrong! lol jk but yeah, that sounds more like it. Hmm, with that being said I'm all in for seeing how they handle Colossus. Thanks for the corrections people! But I hope that they let someone else take over the X-Men franchise after Singer wraps up. He can stay as a sto provider but other than that I fear his Americanizing of the characters will hinder them from their true potential to stand out. I hope I'm proven wrong.
