Speaking with The Playlist while promoting The Lone Ranger, Jerry Bruckheimer talks about the next Pirates Of The Caribbean film. Recently, it was announced that newcomers Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg (Kon-Tiki) signed on to direct the fifth installment in the multi-billion dollar Disney franchise, and Bruckheimer has nothing but good things to say about their take on the series in POTC 5. "We saw their movie early on, maybe six months ago, and I saw some of their other work, which I thought was terrific. That convinced me. They were interested in doing it and they flew over and we showed them a script that we were working on and they had really amazing ideas. Last Friday they came to Hollywood and settled in and started working on it. We're hiring production designers now and it's moving forward."

The producer also confirmed that the fifth go-around for Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow will "absolutely" showcase the expected mix of "high seas adventure and supernatural horror" that was featured in the first four movies, and goes on to comment on the film's shooting locations and settings. "We're certainly going to be filming in Louisiana because of the tax breaks and I think there might be a sequence there. But it will also be set in the Caribbean, obviously." To hear what Bruckheimer has to say about the Top Gun sequel, click the source link below.

With a release date of July 10th, 2015, Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 is one of multiple Disney blockbusters expected to bow that year. The Avengers 2, Star Wars: Episode VII, Finding Dory and more will also debut in 2015. Do you plan on seeing Capt. Jack Sparrow in action once more?

I liked On Stranger Tides but, they really should've stopped after World's End. I really like all of the movies but still, this is ridiculous.

i lost interest in this franchise right after POTC3. I think that only first part was good. Part 3 was definitely more entertaining than part 2, but still meh. Here's hoping this will be the last movie they gonna make. If not - make the six picture ( 2 trilogy's) and just stop.

I'm not Depp fan in particular, but he deserves better.

(like ED WOOD KIND OF BETTER )

Unless, whats wanted is not being want by some people who don't want what most people are wanting. In this case, "The Movie". Who ever wants another movie can want to have it wanted, expect those who don't want it can feel wanted by others who feel the same way about the movie not being wanted. Still Savvy?

should've stopped after POTC3. Stranger Tides was a let down, but still decent. Just finish your 2nd trilogy and be done.

In other words. I like the films. I would see the movies. Those who don't want to see it. Well, don't see it. You still Savvy?

@Crossbones

it's not ridiculous. It's the power of money. People still wanna pay to see those movie (Transformers franchise anyone ?)
They won't quit, unless Depp will say "Bye". Imagine POTC without Depp. Nobody would wanna watch it.

As for Transformers - they won't quit until people get bored.
It may take some time. 5 to 10 years probably.

P.S. The Lone Ranger fate remains a mystery. It could turn into trilogy, or just tank at the box office.

Back to the Future seems to be the best of trilogy's.
Or maybe it's just nostalgia.

LOTR is such borefest (part 3, anyone ?). Part 1 was good though.
Hobbit has it flaws, but it's more entertaining.
Funny thing, the closer Jackson stick to the source material, the more ugly things get. Tolkien is unreadable. I stopped reading Fellowship after 300 page. 100 pages of walking in the woods.
Stopped reading Hobbit during the mount climbing chapter.

I'll see it despite the dubious quality of the last one. Actually all of the sequels weren't really that good. The original is still awesome.

I think they try too hard at the supernatural stuff because it worked for the first one. I just want a movie about pirates

Why can't they let this franchise die already? Oh wait, that's right. Because Bruckheimer and Disney are greedy bastards.

Who wants to put money down that Disney will finish out the second trilogy and then do a prequel? Any takers?

Eff all the haters... On Stranger Tides was great. Can't wait for the 5th and 6th. But seriously after that no more. The only thing I would want to see is maybe an animated show telling the early years of Sparrow based off the kids books but that is it!

The franchise is a hit and miss for me (enjoyed the first and fourth films, but 2 and 3 were underwhelming), but there's no denying that it's a money maker. Disney will keep on making 'em until they stop making a ton of dough it seems.

I liked four better than two and three. I'm glad they're making this. And by that I mean I'm indifferent.
