With the live-action remake of
Mulan set for release next month, Disney has shared a batch of international character banners featuring the Chinese epic's six main players.
Acclaimed filmmaker Niki Caro brings the classic tale of China’s legendary hero to life in Disney’s
Mulan, which stars Liu Yifei as a fearless young woman who risks everything out of love for her family and her country to become one of the greatest warriors China has ever known.
We recently found out that
Mulan has become the first of Disney's live-action remakes to receive a a PG-13 from the Motion Picture Association of America. It was clear from the trailers that Caro's adaptation was going to be very different from the animated film that inspired it. With no songs, no dragon sidekick and a far more serious tone, the movie seemed closer to a David Lean (
Lawrence of Arabia) or Akira Kurosawa (
Seven Samurai) historical epic than the usual Disney fare.
Check out the posters below along with the most recent trailer and let us know what you think.
Mulan hits theaters on March 27.
