It's been a quiet couple of months for movies, but that thankfully looks set to change on March 5th with the release of Disney Animation's Raya and the Last Dragon. Set for release on Disney+'s Premier Access service, it will also play in UK cinemas where available (meaning a big screen viewing experience will be an option for film fans depending on where they live).

Now, a new trailer for the action-adventure movie has been released, and it promises a visually stunning fantasy tale which should serve as exactly the sort of escapism we need early next month.

There are a lot of great new scenes we haven't seen before in this latest look at the movie, and the trailer comes hot on the heels of the "Big Game" sneak peek which aired during this year's mostly movie-free Super Bowl.

Raya and the Last Dragon promises to take us on an exciting, epic journey to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together long ago in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.

The movie's voice cast includes Kelly Marie Tran, Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, Daniel Dae Kim, Sandra Oh, Benedict Wong, Izaac Wang, Thalia Tran, Alan Tudyk, Lucille Soong, Patti Harrison and Ross Butler.

Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada are directing, with Paul Briggs and John Ripa co-directing. Osnat Shurer and Peter Del Vecho are the producers, and Qui Nguyen and Adele Lim wrote the screenplay.

First time seeing anything of this, looks like it has major potential. Very different than what they usally make. Feels almost like something out of an early Miyazaki movie outside of the usual bits of disney style humor.

Benedict Wong, man. How does his voice sound simultaneously rough & badass and soft & buttery?
