DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Concept Art Depicts The "Tragic End" Of [SPOILER]

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was not shy about killing off a few big characters (even if they were Variants), and wasted little time in kicking-off the death toll by eliminating one of the former Sorcerer Supreme's alternate reality counterparts in the opening scene.

As Defender Strange and America Chavez flee from a demonic entity (referred to here as the "Ribbon Creature), the former makes the difficult decision to sacrifice his young ally in order to prevent her powers falling into the wrong hands, which we'd later learn belonged to The Scarlet Witch.

Chavez ultimately manages to escape by punching open a portal to the 616 Universe, while the creature impales Strange on one of its tendrils.

Concept artist Ian Joyner has taken to Instagram to share three keyframes depicting Defender Strange's "tragic end," and both the Variant and the creature look quite a bit different here to the versions we saw in the movie.

In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Michael Waldron.

The Doctor Strange sequel is now in theaters, and is set to hit Disney+ on June 22.

I liked the movie, but i feel that with all the material could have been so much better.
This was basically wandavison season 2.

@Homen100 - wouldn't really call it season 2, but I it really expects us to have done our homework (Infinity War, Endgame, WandaVision). If you just plan to watch it right after the 2016 movie, you're gonna end up pretty confused.

@Homen100 - maybe that’s reason I didn’t like movie didn’t think of it that way I didn’t like wandavision couldn’t dismiss first episode

@Homen100 -
It was the first of the MCU films that was dependent on a D+ show to get full value, which is part of the grander plan. Personally I don't mind but there is a large segment of the movie going population who may not be interested in putting in the time.

@Homen100 - I keep seeing people say that you need to watch this and that to understand it but I disagree. The movie is very clear about its stakes and who's after what and for what reason. I didn't watch all of Wandavision because I didn't think most of it was very good. Never watched an episode of "What If?"

DS: MOM really plays more like a single issue comic or a 007/Indiana Jones movie. You just get kind of thrown in with a character who is implied to constantly be going on adventures and doing superhero stuff. They're obviously gonna refer back to this and that (sometimes stuff that's not even happened on screen, such as Strange figuring out his Mordo has gone vengeful) but the immediate stakes of the current story are all clear.

I had a blast with this movie. But probably because I was able to take it as an individual unit and not as a payoff or set-up of anything else. I think time will be kind to it.

GOOD MARVEL MOVIES.

@CAPTAINPINKEYE - I'd say they are still good. But they aren't even close to being great anymore.

But I still say Marvel hasn't made a bad movie yet. Not even Eternals was bad. They just are average, and not up to the quality we expect. Some demand lol

But in my opinion the only bad product the MCU has made so far was Moon Knight. I can't see how people have convinced themselves that was even good. I mean I understand taste being subjective but, Moon Knight makes me laugh and wince in pain.

@RegularPoochie - Well you’re a big meanie.

Why Snyder films? Is that my punishment? Because I'd rather not.
Can I [frick] your mother instead?

Looks more emotional than the clownshow we got. What a shitty movie. What a waste of a great concept. You only had one [frick]ing world really. The evil dr strange place was cool, but felt more like a pocket dimension. You didin't explore the mulliverse. Wanda who was once an interesting character is now "Im so evil" sterotype hunting after her little wahmen. Its just a shit movie.

The last half of the movie, after the Illuminati shit was the best part. The music battle, Raimi doing his Army of Darkness thing, Cumberbatch doing a goofy voice. That was good shit

I understand now that Wanda was conjuring different demons to capture America, but those first two scenes would’ve track so much better if they had made the monsters the same.

@HAILHYDRA - Either that or they save the Wanda reveal 'til the middle point.

I liked the movie but I was surprised they leaned into Wanda becoming murder crazy so soon.

This movie was total dog shit. Besides Olsen’s performance. Doctor Wizard or whatever is sidelined seemingly in his own flick. Much like Cap in Civil War, Black Panther in his own movie, and the Waititi Thor movies before him.

This movie sucked and ripped away any interesting potential that the multiverse could have had - now every crossover implies an incursion that destroys whatever reality they interact with.

The only watchable Phase 4 film has been No Way Home and that was saved by Sony as Disney wanted to include America Chavez and they wanted Tobey Maguire to be killed off.
