Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness wasn't quite the crazy trip through the Multiverse some fans anticipated. However, had all those rumours not set expectations a little too high, then we're sure The Illuminati would have been enough to leave jaws on the floor.
Their slaughter at the Scarlet Witch's hands has stuck with us, anyway, and the Avenger heading down a villainous route in an effort to resurrect her children remains divisive among fans.
Currently believed dead, it's unclear what the future holds in store for Wanda Maximoff. She's bound to return somewhere down the line, even if recent comments from Elizbeth Olsen suggest the actress is ready to move on from the MCU.
In the meantime, we have even more concept art from the Doctor Strange sequel, this time showcasing many of the alternate designs considered for Wanda's costume and crown.
Calling her time as the Scarlet Witch an "incredible opportunity" in the sequel's new Art of book, Olsen adds, "It's not the most fun, in my mind, to always play the hero of a story where they do no wrong. I don't find that interesting. And I think the reason why I really enjoyed Wanda from the beginning is she's very clear in her beliefs. They just don't align with others', and that's okay. And then she'll have her own realizations and admit when she makes mistakes."
"And that affects her in different ways. And then I think WandaVision was this journey of her, for the first time, taking her life into her own hands, making decisions for herself, and recognizing that maybe she has a lot to process.
"And she's also feeling a sense of accountability for what she had done to this town and to these people," the actress continues, "but then also experiencing this huge loss of this other life that she had created for herself - that now can exist in The Multiverse."
