The trades recently confirmed that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' reshoots were adding more Multiversal craziness, including some big cameos. Leaked concept art and pre-viz has seemingly already confirmed that Sir Patrick Stewart will be playing a Professor X Variant - which lines up with comments from the actor about meeting with Kevin Feige - but who else could appear?
Reddit leaker "MyTimeToShineHello" (who shared a very long list of fully accurate Spider-Man: No Way Home leaks) has now started a Twitter account, and just dropped one heck of a rumour.
"They added more members for the Illuminati," they claim. "Mister Fantastic is one of them now."
This would make sense considering Reed Richards was a member of that group in the comic books, though we don't know who has been cast as the leader of Marvel's First Family. It may or may not be the same actor who suits up as Mister Fantastic in Jon Watts' upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, though it's certainly a possibility that Ioan Gruffudd gets to take another crack at the hero.
We'll see what happens, but now that the first trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been released, we're definitely hoping to learn more about what's to come soon. However, if how Spider-Man: No Way Home was marketed is any indication, then the biggest surprises will be saved for theaters.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 6, 2022.
