Rachel McAdams "Has Offer" For DOCTOR STRANGE; But She'd Really Like To Play A DC Character
True Detective's Rachel McAdams pretty much confirmed that she has had talks with Marvel about appearing in Doctor Strange, but now the full quote from the actress has been revealed, and it seems she'd rather be playing a certain mystical DC superheroine...
There definitely appears to be some truth to Rachel McAdams being lined up for the female lead role in Marvel's Doctor Strange (the Tweet from The Wrap's Jeff Sneider even claims there's an offer on the table), but nothing is official just yet! Amy Kaufman of the LA Times is the one who spoke to the actress when she confirmed the original rumor was legit, and has now posted the full response to Twitter. It seems McAdams definitely has good taste, as she's a fan of DC's Black Orchid and suggests that she'd be interested in playing the role.
The incarnation of the character McAdams is talking about was the second Black Orchid (Flora Black), and was introduced in Sandman author Neil Gaiman's miniseries back in 1988. Black has been a member of Suicide Squad and more recently Justice League Dark, so there's definitely potential for her to sprout up in the DCCU at some point.
If McAdams does sign on for Doctor Strange it's not likely that she'd jump ship to Warner Bros., but do you think she'd be a good fit for this character anyway?
