DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Concept Art Reveals We Nearly Visited A Deadpool Reality

Some newly revealed Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness concept art confirms Marvel Studios at least considered sending Doctor Strange and America Chavez to a world inhabited by a lot of Deadpools.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was far from disappointing, but its take on the Multiverse, well, it wasn't quite as "mad" as we hoped. That can partially be blamed on ridiculously high expectations, especially as it's hard to complain too much about the likes of Mister Fantastic, Professor X, and Black Bolt showing up!

The fact is, we're spoiled, but there's no denying that Marvel Studios missed a trick by not doing something with Ryan Reynolds' Merc with the Mouth.

Deadpool 3 is in the midst of pre-production, and the Doctor Strange sequel could have been the perfect place to pull Wade Wilson into the MCU. It seems there was once a plan to at least tease the character with a visit to a world that, for whatever reason, is plastered with Deadpool posters!

You can see the posters in the concept art below, and given Deadpool's own ties to the Multiverse (he has a lot of Variants), this "cameo" would have made perfect sense.

Oddly enough, as revealing as the Assembled special looking at Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is, there's not a single mention of John Krasinski's Mister Fantastic. With that in mind, we have to believe the actor was an extremely late addition to the blockbuster.

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Marvel Cinematic Universe unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. We'll journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

The movie's cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Loki Head Writer Michael Waldron.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now playing in theaters. It's now available on Digital platforms and Disney+, and hits Blu-ray, 4k Ultra HD, and DVD on July 26.
