DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Merchandises Teases An Alternate Reality Avengers Team

A new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness t-shirt teases plans to introduce a team of Avengers who hail from another reality. Check out the logo for this take on Earth's Mightiest Heroes here.

We've now heard countless rumours, theories, and supposed leaks for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but if one thing is clear, it's that the biggest surprises are being saved for the theater. That's not a bad thing, of course, but some new merchandise has just dropped quite the intriguing hint for what may be to come in Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange sequel.

At first glance, this appears to be little more than just the regular Avengers logo we all know so well. However, the description for the t-shirt listed on Amazon reads: "Experience Doctor Stephen Strange in a whole new mind-bending adventure with Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This Avengers t-shirt showcases the Avengers logo for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes that might just be from a whole new multiverse."

In other words, this is the logo for a team of Avengers that hails from another reality. It doesn't offer many clues at first glance, but the red energy does instantly bring Ultron to mind.

This would line up with [SPOILER ALERT] an apparent leaked image pointing to the Sorcerer Supreme ending up on a world where Tony Stark managed to create a "suit of armour" around the world thanks to his Ultron drones. We'll see, but if another team of Earth's Mightiest Heroes is set to appear, it's going to be a lot of fun seeing how they differ from the MCU's Avengers.

This is an officially licensed item, but how accurate that description is remains to be seen. We're sure this hasn't been released by mistake though, and is bound to only increase discussion among fans.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 6.

Cameos galore, it's cheap nostalgia bait of course but if made properly it can be incredibly effective
Origame
Origame - 1/20/2022, 10:45 AM
@Blergh - from what I'm hearing the reshoots were apparently meant to add more past franchise cameos like in no way home. So bare minimum the alternate avengers were always in the script.

@Origame - I hope we get to see the alternate universe version of Awkwafina, named Dasawni. Or the French version Pewwier. Or the one that went to college, Smawtwater.

@UncleHarm1 - pewwier lol

@Origame - I really can see Chris Evans, Ioan Gruffud, Michael Chicklis return. Not sure about Alba, she's retired these days.

Nic Cage, Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane, Ray Winstone and Wesley Snipes are doing low-budget Highland Film stuff these days. So if they appeared in this they would benefit in a fame-boost.

@Blergh - I really would like to see Nic Cage back as Blaze in the main continuity. Maybe one more movie to redeem Ghost Rider then hand over to Danny Ketch.

@Corruptor - part of me would love a D+ trilogy. The first one ("Avengers 2000") starring Tobey Maguire, Ioan Gruffud, Chris Evans, Jessica Alba, Michael Chicklis, Eric Bana, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck teaming up against Julian McMahon's Doctor Doom.
The second one ("Midnight Sons 2000") starring Nic Cage, Wesley Snipes, Jessica Biel, Ryan Reynolds, Thomas Jane, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck who are going up against Lillith (Mila Jovovic).
And finally all the 2000s characters teaming up with Silver Surfer against against Galactus (Gary Oldman).
The films would "redeem" the 2000s films and close up individual cliffhangers.

They could follow that up with "Avengers 2010" (starring Andrew Garfield, Tom Hardy, Ray Winstone, Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell) tying the cliffhangers from TASM2 and F4 together.

all an absolutely whacky idea but would be hilarious nevertheless.
Virtual production and the cheapness of some actors could be benefitial.

Hell imagine a teamup of Dolph Lundgren, Lou Ferigno (with CG enhancements), Matt Salinger, Peter Hooten, Chip Zien, Nicholas Hammond, Edgar Allen Kramer and Rex Smith as "Avengers 1970" lol

Not sure what this means for Strange's character arc, but it definitely sounds like "Multiverse of Madness" is absolutely going to be a title this movie lives up to

@bobevanz - Leo absolutely would NOT do that cameo. I’m still holding on to that Tom Cruise/ Tony Stark cameo that’s rumored. Out of fun, I think Cruise would do it.

@bobevanz - Leo and Tobey have been close friends for almost 30 years.

Can we just let the dead rest in peace, please? Tony & Steve rode off into their respective sunsets perfectly, let's not go robbing their graves this soon. I hope we don't see cameos of them.

@Super12 - not sure if alternate versions would damage anything, it would not be the same characters
marvel72
marvel72 - 1/20/2022, 10:51 AM
@Super12 - I think they'll be back eventually. If they do Avengers Vs X-Men,who would you rather see Iron Man take on The X-Men or the crappy Ironheart.
Feralwookiee
Feralwookiee - 1/20/2022, 10:56 AM
@Super12 - Yeah. I kinda feel the same on that and as far as seeing "alternate dimension" versions of characters.
I'm ok with that, but it should be a limited thing and not something they're gonna lean on going forward.

A little bit of fan service is fine and Marvel tends to do it right, but the Marvel Universe is so big, lets keep exploring truly NEW and weird places instead of just looking back to the past, alternate or not.
IronMan616
IronMan616 - 1/20/2022, 11:03 AM
@Super12 - Yes, full agreement, let mainline MCU Tony and Steve rest. Variant/multiverse Tony and Steve though? Bring them on. I want to see recast Tony, young Tony, oldman Tony, and alligator Tony too.
Ocelot
Ocelot - 1/20/2022, 11:06 AM
@Super12 - Why do you think Feige introduced the multiverse? This is his way of bringing back any past actor/character for any story he wants. See No Way Home and Loki. Iron Man, Captain America and even Black Widow will be back in an MCU movie within 5-7 years time. This means whatever happens to any of the characters in any movie means nothing because it can now be undone because "multiverse". See Loki.

The multiverse was Feige jumping the shark.

@Super12 - They are both in it.
McMurdo
McMurdo - 1/20/2022, 12:24 PM
@Ocelot - precisely why it is so important for us fans to have films like the Batman and Joker that can use amazing characters we love in self contained stories. If it all gets messy not everything needs to suffer. But this will never be the case for the MCU and Feige obviously, which needs to change if you ask Lee. Blade should have no problems getting it’s deserved R rating. DP3 is a miracle anomaly honestly
Corruptor
Corruptor - 1/20/2022, 1:06 PM
@McMurdo - It's partly the fans to blame for insisting everything be "connected" or "canon".
Corruptor
Corruptor - 1/20/2022, 1:07 PM
@Ocelot - Yeah, probably easier not to kill them off in the first place. I mean there are still comics being published with Tony Stark and Steve Rogers so they ain't going to go away any time soon.
Whaley87
Whaley87 - 1/21/2022, 7:00 AM

hmm, I'd be down for it, specially if it's like an "evil" version of the team ala Justice Lords. not saying it's that, it's just that in my basic-bitch brain the color red indicates "villain".
