When we last saw the God of Mischief, he was trapped in an alternate reality ruled over by Kang the Conqueror. However, new evidence suggests Loki is returning to the big screen sooner than we thought...

Loki season 2 has already been confirmed by Marvel Studios and will likely arrive on Disney+ sometime in 2023. Whether that will be before or after Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania remains to be seen, but the God of Mischief could return to the big screen sooner rather than later.

German actor Peter Lontzek voices Loki in non-English dubbed versions of his film and TV appearances, and he's now confirmed that he's working on an upcoming MCU movie. "There is a new Marvel film that I am currently working on that I am not allowed to talk about," he said.

It was thanks to one of Tobey Maguire's voiceover performers that we learned he would be in Spider-Man: No Way Home, so chances are Lontzek will be in hot water for sharing these comments.

Of course, he hasn't revealed exactly where we'll see Loki, but Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder are the two most likely possibilities. Seeing as The Hollywood Reporter once suggested the villain turned anti-hero would appear in the Doctor Strange sequel, we'd bet on Sam Raimi's sequel being how Loki escapes the new reality he finds himself in.

We'll have to wait and see, but more Loki in the MCU is never a bad thing...

I thought people were already expecting him in Dr Strange… what’s sooner than that?

@slickrickdesigns - expecting doesn't mean confirmed
This German actors admission is adding more credibility to that rumor

@slickrickdesigns - I don’t expect him in Doc. Strange 2. Seems ridiculous to expect, aside from the loose multiversal connection.

@slickrickdesigns - I've been expecting him in it for ages, yeah, based on something... I think I read on this site?

Marvel snipers are coming for this guy. I won't complain, the more Loki i'm ok with. I think it'd make more sense if he shows up in Thor L&T than DS2... but... with his knowledge of the TVA and multiverse he could be an asset to DS and possibly Wanda?

He Could be voicing someone else. He didn't say "I'll be voicing Loki".

@RokoVII - The thing about the German dub industry is that they have specific actors doing voices for specific actors so there is a consistency for German movie going audiences. He's voicing Hiddelston in everything he's in. So presumambly he won't be fired, but there will probably be consequences of the monetary variety.

The funny thing with that is however, that most voice actors have several actors that they voice during their career which leads to some of my personal favourite dubbing situations:

Nicholas Cages German voice being used as Temuera Morrisons german voice.
Growing up and having a specific voice that goes with Nicholas Cage ingrained in my mind and then watching the Clone Wars was a trip and a half.

Also Neil Patrick Harris and Ewan McGregor have the same voice as well, so Obi Wan always sounds like Barney Stinson to me.

That being said I stopped watching movies in German altogether at this point, so I don't really care about any of that anymore.
