In Eternals' mid-credits scene, we were introduced to Harry Styles' Eros/Starfox. In the short stinger, the charismatic adventurer made it clear to Thena, Druig, and Makkari that he can lead them to Arishem and their friends, though it remains to be seen whether the brother of Thanos can be trusted.
Common sense says we'll next see Starfox in Eternals 2, though Marvel Studios has yet to announce whether the plan is to move forward with a follow-up. Critically, the movie earned a disappointing 47% on Rotten Tomatoes, though it has racked up nearly $400 million ($395 million as we write this) at the worldwide box office. Without a China release, that's a solid result in this "pandemic era."
A direct sequel may not be guaranteed, but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed at the Spider-Man: No Way Home world premiere that there are tentative plans in place for Styles and Eros. "That was a fun one. That was a fun teaser tag at the end of the movie. We have a lot of fans, outside the studio of course, but within the studio, of Starfox; of that character Eros. So as the MCU has continued into the Cosmic arena, there are ideas."
If Starfox is returning, then we're guessing Patton Oswalt's Pip the Troll will be with him. However, we're hoping the special effects used to bring the CG character to life will have improved somewhat because comparisons to The Polar Express back in November didn't exactly feel unwarranted.
