ETERNALS Spoiler-Filled TV Spot Celebrates The Movie Being #1 At The Worldwide Box Office

After a global opening weekend bigger than many analysts expected, Marvel Studios has released an Eternals TV spot featuring heaps of spoilery footage from Chloé Zhao's MCU blockbuster. Check it out...

Eternals may not have broken box office records in North America this weekend, but the movie definitely didn't have the "disappointing" debut some analysts were claiming yesterday.

Arguably the biggest story to come from its debut is the fact that a $161 million global haul is actually the second biggest of 2021 behind only F9: The Fast Saga. That movie was released to $163 million earlier this year, but a sizeable chunk of that total came from China, a country Eternals will not be released in.

Marvel Studios is touting the news that they have the #1 movie in the world with a new TV spot that features a lot of spoilery footage, including shots from the final few moments. Needless to say, you're probably better off not watching if you haven't seen Eternals yet, but if that's the case, why are you reading this? Go see it.

"A powerful, sweeping exploration of love, life, and the MCU’s history, Eternals occasionally stumbles, but when it soars, this is Marvel Studios at its magnificent best," we said in our review.

Check out this latest Eternals TV spot below:

Eternals is the MCU's latest team-up, and features a group of heroes from beyond the stars who had protected the Earth since the dawn of man. When the Deviants, long thought lost to history, mysteriously return, the Eternals are forced to reunite in order to defend humanity once again.

The Marvel Studios movie stars Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Salma Hayek as Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as Thena.

Eternals is now playing in theaters worldwide!

That WW total is very strong, they did better than an OG Avenger

@ShellHead - world war

@dragon316 - Yes, that is exactly what ShellHead meant. Didn't you hear? Due to the pandemic we are now measuring Box Office success (I could have just abbreviated that to "BO" but that would have apparently caused all kinds of confusion) by how they would have fared during times of global catastrophe. For example, while ShellHead is pointing out how well Eternals would have been doing during a World War (take your pick which one), that may not stack up to how it would have done during, say, the Black Plague or even the 1918 flu epidemic. It's a new rating system, man. Get on board.

@StSteven - I am so tempted to finally block this wacko...

But I am oddly entertained by his comments.

@kylo0607 - Well if nothing else I see it as a venue for exercising the most extreme limits of my sarcasm and dry humor while not being outwardly rude or condescending. It's a difficult balance and in some ways akin to verbal Ninjutsu, so like a punching dummy, he/she fills a valuable role. And so with that, we thank you for your service dragon316 (see? I managed to slip a couple in just in this post - I might be ready to go Pro soon ;)).

What trailers did y'all get before the movie started? I got Spider-man, Ghostbusters, Matrix and Encanto.

@MCUKnight11 - I got Clifford, The Batman, Encanto, Morbius and Gucci. The Batman kicked off the trailers for me

I was completely surprised that there was no Spidey trailer at all
