ETERNALS Star David Kaye Weighs In On Arishem's Future MCU Role And His Avengers Hopes (Exclusive)

Eternals shakes up the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a lot of noteworthy ways, though it's the introduction of Arishem the Celestial that will arguably have the largest impact moving forward. We could be looking at one of this shared world's next big bads, and based on the way things wrap up for the immortal heroes, some sort of clash between Arishem and the Eternals may now be inevitable.

Recently, we caught up with legendary voice actor David Kaye to discuss the work that went into bringing this character to life, and we had to get his thoughts on what could be next.

"I have no idea. I’m still enjoying my 15 minutes of fame here! [Laughs]" he admitted. "You never know. I have no idea. It’s so secretive, so I couldn’t say anything anyway! It certainly leaves it all open and there are all kinds of little Easter Eggs and mentions. They talk about some of the other hero groups [Laughs] which was neat."

When we pointed out that being set up as a major player in the MCU, being a God-like character, and the possibility of one day sharing the screen with Harry Styles is quite an achievement for an actor joining this franchise, Kaye responded: "[Laughs]. I know! There were six people in the theater and as soon as Harry appeared, ‘[Squeals].’"

"Disney is an incredible company because the opportunity, the stories, and the worlds…this could go on forever. It’s so deep and so amazing. There are so many ways this could go. It’s an endless pit of stories and ideas and characters. They could mine this forever [Laughs]. There’s tonnes. Wherever they want to take it, there’s no shortage of material, that’s for sure."

As for who Kaye would like to see Arishem cross paths with elsewhere in the MCU, he responded: "I’m not sure. I keep going to the X-Men or Avengers. One of the Avengers for sure because of my experience and history with Assemble. It would be great to interact with that team. The Hulk, maybe." When we suggested Galactus, the actor added, "There you go! See, you’re thinking big."

Arishem is definitely a character with potential in the MCU, and we're excited to see his story continue post-Eternals. Check out our full interview with David below and keep an eye on CBM for more soon.

Very interesting movie for me, the action was great with some really good character moments.

Very surprised how much I liked it.

@DaEternalClunge - same, I was surprised that I liked it the most out of phase 4 so far, more than Shang chi and Wandavision.
