ETERNALS Star Gemma Chan Confirms That The Movie Will Feature A Love Triangle

There have been rumblings for a while for now that Eternals will feature a love triangle, but star Gemma Chan has now confirmed that Sersi will be "involved in two love stories." Read on for details...

Footage shown at CCXP in Brazil last year pointed to Eternals featuring a love triangle between Sersi (Gemma Chan), Ikaris (Richard Madden), and Dane Whitman (Kit Harington). Well, that's now seemingly been confirmed as Chan talked briefly about her role in the Marvel Studios movie during a recent interview with Vanity Fair Italia

"Sersi is the one that has the most affinity with humans," she explains in the translated quote. "[Indeed] she is even involved in two love stories, an absolute novelty for Marvel events and one of the reasons that attracted me of this project."

Between this and previous reports about Eternals, it sounds like a big part of the film will revolve around Sersi trying to remain loyal to her people while stepping out of the shadows to protect humans. It's the latter which should lead to her crossing paths with Whitman, a rumoured archaeologist who stumbles across their existence while researching the existence of the Celestials.

Recently, rumours have been doing the rounds regarding the release of the first trailer for the movie and, as you might expect, it's expected to be attached to Black Widow when it arrives in theaters in May (meaning it should find its way online a few weeks before then).

I guess Thor/Sif/Jane was the closest Marvel has come to a love triangle so far, and that was... muted at best.

Feige needs to start getting the romance muscles trained for when the X-Men hit, though, because you can't go from zero to full-on-soap-opera without some practice.

...Actually... "Kevin Feige's Romance Muscles"...

Actually, she never said triangle, did she. The "two love stories" are probably Dane and some historical one (probably one of his ancestors). While I dig it, it's not quite soapy enough for me.

Fun how I can't choose between Richard Madden, Kit Harrington or Gemma Chan...

@Necropolitan - After watching Bodyguard, it's no contest to me.
