ETERNALS Star Kit Harington On Reuniting With Richard Madden And Possible MCU Team-Up With Emilia Clarke

Eternals star Kit Harington has shared his thoughts on being back on screen with Richard Madden, while also expressing excitement for Dane Whitman to one day cross paths with Emilia Clarke's MCU character.

Eternals stars Kit Harington and Richard Madden first shared the screen in the first episode of Game of Thrones, but when Robb Stark and Jon Snow went their separate ways, that was it for them. Despite that, fans of the HBO series have been extremely excited to see their reunion in the Marvel Studios movie, though for the two actors, it really wasn't that big of a deal.

"I’ve said this a few times, but it’s true: we really didn’t have a lot of time on set together on Game of Thrones," Harington reiterated in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "So it’s strange. Our closeness is not built in front of camera; it’s built behind camera. We’ve been very good friends for a long time, so it was nice to spend bit of time — albeit limited time — with a friend on set."

Adding that it wasn't at all strange to see each other on a "more modern-day set," the Dane Whitman actor added: "[Laughs] Yeah, for fans of Game of Thrones or fans of that universe, to see two major roles from that world in another one feels like a bigger thing than it does to me and Richard."

Of course, another big reunion potentially in Harington's MCU future is with fellow Game of Thrones alum Emilia Clarke. The Daenerys Targaryen actress has been cast as a mystery character in Secret Invasion, with the prevailing theory being that she's either Skrull Queen Veranke or S.W.O.R.D. Director Abigail Brand.

"That would slightly blow my mind, I think, because me and Emilia had a lot together. So if we ended up crossing paths in a different franchise, I think we’d have a good old giggle about that."

Harington may soon get a bit sick of questions like these, but something tells us we'll be seeing a lot of Dane in the MCU over the next few years (and not just in the Eternals franchise).

Eternals is now playing in theaters.

I hope Secret Invasion leads to two things, one of which being Captain Britain and MI-13 (the other being Dark Reign). So it would be pretty fun to already see Whitman show up in the Secret Invasion show and cross paths with Clarke's character.

@bkmeijer - I see dark reign But unfortunately I don’t see Norman Osborne, something tells me will not be sharing him.

Poor Stark sisters, they chose the wrong marvel universe

His character served little to no purpose honestly. Plus the “reveal” of him being more than he led on was so forced and out of place.

@Cbmfilmjunkie - i agree, but the character itself was instantly likeable cuz kit harington did a lot with what he was given, imo. im excited to see more of him.

@Cbmfilmjunkie - I thought that was OK, which is weird because at first I was like man I thought he was going to be the black light, haha voice text, guess he’ll be the black knight instead

Yeah, he was definitely likable which was a relief. It was nice seeing Kate and another role.

Also, I’m surprised we haven’t gotten an article where the Director confirmed that BLADE was the voice in the post credit scene talking to Dane. 😯

I kept questioning why Robb Stark and Jon Snow were horny for Cersei in this? Like man, D&D really dropped the ball.

Bro, I loved the movie. Felt very different from your standard MCU movie but still part of that universe. Shang-Chi was a fun popcorn flick that i forgot about the very next day, but Eternals has stayed with me. Hope the critical response doesnt stop Marvel from doing more things like these.

@DarkDetective - Exactly. That’s the best way to describe it. As soon as i walked out the theater Shang Chi was forgotten about but i found myself thinking about Eternals for a few days after i saw It. That to me is the definition of a good movie.

The Inhumans and Eternals could have been Marvels answer to Game Of Thrones but in Space.

Loved the movie. Both showings I went to we're very lively with screams and oohs and aahs. But it's so damn hilarious and telling how much D&D dropped the ball. The reunion of Harrington and Madden were met with silence. LMAO!
