THE BLACK KNIGHT Will Reportedly Be Connected To ANT-MAN AND THE WASP's Quantum Realm

Ant-Man and The Wasp might be even more important to the MCU than you think, as The Black Knight is reportedly on his way to the big screen, with his origin mysteriously connected to the Quantum Realm...

Back in September, it was revealed that Marvel might be thinking about making an all-new team-up movie, uniting Captain Britain and the Stan Lee and Dick Ayers-created Black Knight in a flick directed by Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes, The Man From U.N.C.L.E.). While the rumored movie’s production was apparently set to start in November, Ain't It Cool News' report may not be completely false.

According to MCU Cosmic Founder Jeremy Conrad, Marvel Studios is actually thinking about bringing Dane Whitman to the big screen at some point in the future. Conrad even claims that Marvel already knows how to introduce this generally niche superhero and the key word is – The Quantum Realm.

Although Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige did emphasize The Quantum Realm's importance on numerous occasions, it truly might be the key to the MCU going forward, as it was introduced in 2015's Ant-Man and shown in its full glory in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Conrad also pinned a photo of the mysterious city hidden in the Microverse, suggesting it was much more than just a simple Easter Egg in AM&TW.

It’s unclear if Marvel is still developing that rumored Captain Britain and The Black Knight film, but it looks like fans of this old-school hero wielding the powerful Ebony Blade can look forward to the future. Still, you should keep in mind that it’s just a rumor and nothing has been officially confirmed regarding the appearance of The Black Knight (and Captain Britain) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Sometimes this Feige guy just loves to confound me. When you're staring down the barrel of getting the X-Men and Fantastic Four back, why the hell would you be pursuing something like this?...

No offense to Black Knight fans.

Black Knight leads to Captain Britain leads to Excalibur... sure. Finally I'm interested. But that's a step or two more than it needs to be.

@Spock0Clock - Change of pace, a lot of what they’re doing now is derivative, except for Guardians which injected new life into the MCU. Once upon a time someone posted, “Why Guardians? No disrespect but wtf?

@Spock0Clock - because why not? Marvel has been introducing generally obscure characters to the general audiences for a decade. Why stop now?

I don’t mind letting the X-Men rest for a bit, but we got to get the F4 in soon. I think Black Knight has some great potential too. I think Guy Ritchie would do great with that property and it would fit perfectly into the MCU.

@SmellofDuty - After seeing his King Arthur, I'm incredibly skeptical about Ritchie being the guy for this. Marvel Studios are a steady hand at the till, certainly, but unless Ritchie has some convincing explanation about why King Arthur went down like that, I wouldn't trust him with it at all.
