@Kr08 I appreciate the feedback, but take note I am in High School, with limited resources, this is just a passion project. Ismahawk is more than likely in film school and at least 10 years older than me, I had a crew of 4-5 people, while they had a crew of over 20. They are in a whole different league, and it is unfair and pretty petty of you to trash on something made by 15-16 year olds who love Spider-Man and want to tell a story. My work will get better with more experience, I am glad you took time out of your day to watch it, thank you.

@AleHunter I'm not trying to be a dick here, I'm telling you how it is. Take it from someone who actually understands how to do all this, getting criticism that doesn't inflate your ego helps a hell of a lot more than getting a "Good job!" from your friends and family.


Acting tip: Seeing how you made yourself Spider-Man because it's your project, stop rubbing your hands on your face. You do it every 5 seconds in each scene, even when you have the mask on.

@AlexHunter It's okay, I'll be more constructive for the next episode. But if you want Peter to seem uncomfortable, don't plan ahead. When you go into a scene, just go in knowing the lines. Don't go in with an idea of how you'll deliver your lines. If you're feeling nervous, use it in the scene. Reacting is key! If the person in the scene with you says something that would make you angry, happy, nervous, then react that way in the moment with the lines.
Trust me, I can tell you that memorizing your lines and thinking about what to do to seem more nervous is going to mess you up. It will definitely make it seem less natural.

So, I'm ashamed to say I actually read all the comments above...and I disagree with basically everybody. Take it from a filmmaker, you're on the right track Alex. Obviously you have no budget, poor production materials, and a limited cast and crew. I have to give you props for what you've accomplished with those restraints. I'm in the pre-production process myself with some Spider-Man fan films, and without a Hollywood budget, it's extremely difficult to get the results you want. So I'll give you my 2 cents on this. It seems like on a basic level, you did a good job capturing the essence of Peter. Just try to keep in mind that without boatloads of money, it's a better idea to focus on character than action, and you need to realize that there are some things you just can't capture right on screen without the budget to back it. Its tough, because there are things you want to do, and find that you have to make shortcuts to sort of create your original idea, but don't take those shortcuts. I don't want to seem harsh by saying that, but try to create natural, realistic scenes instead of something that would be more real in a more expensive location or with better effects. These episodes are alright considering where you are at in life. Don't use that as an excuse to make an "ok" fan film. Keep high expectations for yourself(including making sure you're explicit that you aren't attempting to break copyright), don't try to do anything if you don't think you can do it well, and(you do this well) make sure your passion for the film shows. You're very much on the right track, and I know you've already got a lot more of this done already and can't go back and change it, but this is a great first step towards filmmaking. You can't learn anything without making some mistakes along the way.

And don't listen to Kr08. He doesn't know anything about acting.
