The Marvel Cinematic Universe only has one movie left before it gears up for the blockbuster event Age of Ultron. We already know that Ant Man is the first instalment of the aftermath of Age of Ultron but little else is known about Phase 3 of this cinematic juggernaut. From what has been confirmed and what rumours are flying around on the internet I have built what I think would be an ideal Phase 3 for the MCU.
Aftermath of Age of Ultron (2015)- It’sa possibility that Joss Whedon is going to give one of the Avengers the axe in AoU but the question is which one? It has to be someone of relative importance and who doesn’t have a solo movie planned. But I think that there should be more than one murder and the candidates I have chosen are Iron Man and Thor.
Now we’ll get to Iron Man in a bit but let’s discuss Thor first as he’s not going to actually die. Psyche. In the final battle between The Avengers and Ultron I think that Ultron should blast an extremely powerful weapon at a fellow Avenger (Hawkeye, Cap, Black Widow take your pick) Thor then takes the hit and is vaporized leaving the world to believe he’s dead. This causes the Avengers to fight harder than they ever had and prompts Tony to sacrifice his life to defeat Ultron (not sure how yet). Tony is gone for good but Thor was actually saved by the Enchantress (yep exactly like in Earths Mightiest Heroes).
Due to the loss of two team mates the team disbands, Cap goes on a manhunt for all of HYDRA’s leaders (due to them having a hand in Ultrons creation), Rhodey discovers a contingency plan which initiates if Tony should die appointing him the new Iron Man and the rest of the team go their separate ways, The new World Security Council founds HAMMER, a more militant, aggressive organization to stomp out any potential threats that won’t cooperate. In the mid credits scene Thanos is shown viewing the events of Age of Ultron unfold. The Other remarks that due to Earths protectors being disassembled the world is much more vulnerable. Thanos says that if their plan is to truly succeed there are some variables we must eliminate. Thanos then looks at a screen showing the Guardians of the Galaxy, Asgard and Adam Warlock. The Post credit scene shows Hank Pym watching Ultron on the news and looking at blueprints he made for the original Ultron ending with him saying “what have I done”.
Hank Pym is an esteemed inventor and retired superhero who is in a state of extreme depression due to the use of his designs to create Ultron who nearly wiped out humanity and the loss of his wife, Janet Van Dyne. His daughter, Janet Pym is distant and the only human contact Hank has is his lab assistant Bill Foster. Scott Lang on the other hand is an ex SHIELD agent turned janitor/engineer after the fall of SHIELD. He works in Pym’s lab and eavesdrops on Pym and Bill hearing Pym recount his glory days as Ant Man. Lang, who is struggling to make ends meet is horrified to discover that his daughter has become extremely ill and he does not have the money to pay for treatment. Because of this he decides to steal the retired hero’s costume so that he can steal money to pay Cassie’s hospital bills.
After discovering that his suit has been stolen Pym dons an experimental suit called Project Yellowjacket and pursues the thief. Lang after robbing a bank sees a woman in trouble and uses his powers to defeat the attackers. Pym finally discovers Lang and they engage in a fight. While fighting Lang an old enemy from Pym’s past sees them doing battle on the news. Seeking revenge he sends two of his ‘miracles’ Whirlwind and Radioactive Man to deal with him finally being able to get even after he disappeared years ago. Yellowjacket and Ant Man are forced to team up when Radioactive Man and Whirlwind attack.
They manage to fend them off and Whirlwind is captured however Radioactive Man escapes. Pym then realises that his old foe, Elihas Starr is still active. Discovering the identity of the new Ant Man Elihas seeking to end Ant Man once and for all kidnaps both Janet Pym and Cassie Lang.
Pym reveals that in the 60’s him and Wasp operated with a secret team of extraordinary people who worked for SHIELD known as the Invaders (this is where the idea for the Avengers initiative came from and explains why Fury said that Iron Man wasn’t the only hero in the world at the end of Iron Man). The team consisted of Peggy Carter, the Synthetic Man, T’chaka the Black Panther, Namor and US Agent. Elihas (going by the alias Egghead) had been one of their enemy’s and Ant Man’s cockiness had led to the death of Elihas’ wife. This caused Pym to leave the team and become a pacifist. Lang and Pym put aside their differences to save their daughters and infiltrate Eggheads hideout. With Foster guiding them they take down his guards and discover that Egghead now in charge of the think tank AIM has accessed HYDRA’S databanks and figured out how to create ‘Miracles’. He turns up the juice on Radioactive Man and sends him to attack the two. They work together to defeat him but Egghead then reveals his plan to kill Janet and Cassie. Before he can Pym takes a gamble and shrinks them into the microverse to protect them and they defeat Egghead, however he manages to escape. Pym regrows Cassie and Janet and they reunite and celebrate at Pym’s lab.
Pym gives Lang his blessing and lets him continue to be Ant Man. Lang agrees as he believes he can use his abilities and the Ant Man suit to do better and help people like he did when he saved the lady from those muggers. Pym then screens both Janet and Cassie to make sure there aren’t any side effects of being in the microverse. Cassie is now cured of her disease but discovers that Pym Particles have been integrated into their DNA. There doesn’t seem to be any effects on Cassie yet but it is revealed that Janet now has the ability to shrink. In a mid-credits scene Egghead reports to his allies.
Captain America: Living Legend (2016)- Cap has been travelling around the world trying to destroy HYDRA singlehandedly, but every head he cuts off two more take its place. He realises that the only way to destroy HYDRA once and for all is to attack its heart, the HYDRA supreme council. Baron von Strucker, Madame Viper, Arnim Zola and Helmut Zemo. However Zemo is secretly trying to seize control of HYDRA himself. With some advice from Nick Fury, Cap assembles a team to attack HYDRA at its core. He recruits Black Widow, Hawkeye, Falcon, The Winter Soldier and Sharon Carter. The team is coordinated by Nick Fury who feeds them intel. First they go after Arnim Zola who is being guarded by Crossbones and Yelena Belova. After they fight Arnim Zola uploads himself into a new body that he has been building at HYDRA’s base the ‘Hell-Carrier’ a stolen Helicarrier they seized after the events of the Winter Soldier. He informs the HYDRA council that they must accelerate their plans if they wish to stay ahead of Captain America.
Cap and co drag Belova back to one of Fury’s safe houses and Widow says that she will interrogate her due to their ‘history’. After interrogating Belova, Black Widow reveals that the HYDRA council is searching for an artefact called a Norn stone. Black Widow hacks into HYDRA’s database and discovers the location of an old WW2 HYDRA base when she searches for files related to the Norn stone before she is shut out of the system. Cap and co visit the derelict HYDRA base that housed the information on the Norn stones. They discover that there are two potential locations of the Norn stone. Norway and Egypt.
When they return to Fury’s safe house they discover that Belova has escaped. Knowing that she will report to HYDRA they decide to look for the Norn stones immediately. Cap, Sharon and Hawkeye go to Norway while Falcon, Black Widow and Bucky go to Egypt. In Egypt a team of HYDRA agents lead by Crossbones as well as Batroc (who HYDRA hired due to his knowledge of the terrain and hatred for Captain America) are searching an old tomb. Falcon’s team then engage in a fight with them. The same happens in Norway except Madame Viper, Belova and Baron are waiting for them with a HYDRA battalion. Black Widow and Belova fight, Cap and Baron Zemo duke it out and Sharon tries to retrieve the Norn stone while fighting her way through HYDRA soldiers and attempting to beat Viper to the Norn stone.
Back in Egypt Falcon ends up defeating Crossbones and Hawkeye enters the Egyptian tomb finding nothing (except a shrine to Konshu, just a little Moon Knight Easter egg). Sharon enters a Viking ruin and discovers the Norn stone but she is shot by Madame Viper. Viper then takes the Norn stone and leaves Sharon dying. Viper emerged from the ruin and gives Cap the choice of pursuing her or saving Sharon’s life. Cap tells Black Widow to follow Viper but she’s held back by Belova and the HYDRA soldiers. Cap decides to go after Sharon and Viper and Baron Zemo escapes with the Norn stone.
On the way back to the Hell-Carrier Zemo shoots Viper in the head and takes the Norn stone. He returns claiming that Viper was lost in the battle. Arnim Zola then says that he has work to do. Back at Fury’s safe house Sharon is in a coma and Cap has no idea what to do. But Hawkeye reveals he put a tracker on Crossbones and they follow it to the Hell-Carrier. There the witness Zola’s machine which is hooked up to the Norn stone activate. It opens a portal and through it the Red Skull emerges. Strucker reveals to Cap and co that for over 80 years he had been trapped in between worlds. Arnim Zola eventually created a machine that could access it but only managed to allow Red Skull to communicate with them but not travel back to Earth. To create a steady gateway to Red Skull Zola needed something to generate a gateway. The only thing they knew of was the Tesseract but they didn’t have access to that. So they searched for alternatives and they found out about the Norn stone. So they decide to find it and use its power, which was able to open a gateway to the world between worlds to save Red Skull. Now with him alive he could lead HYDRA to greatness once again.
Red Skull is shocked and angered to see that Cap is still alive. Red Skull then gives the order to eliminate them all except for Cap. Arnim Zola activates his ‘special project’ which are a multitude of HYDRA Dreadnaughts. Falcon, Hawkeye, BW and Bucky fight the dreadnaughts while Red Skull confronts Cap. Cap and Red Skull have an epic showdown pushing Cap to his limit. Red Skull remarks that they are both Living Legends and that they are one and the same. Inspiration for some, enemy for others. Cap pushes himself to the brink but manages to defeat Red Skull. Before he can end it Baron Zemo shoots Strucker and uses an EMP to deactivate Arnim Zola. He reveals his true motive was to seize control of HYDRA as Red Skull had his chance and failed. He wanted to makes sure that every potential leader of HYDRA the council land Red Skull included had been eliminated to prevent a power struggle from occurring. Baron Zemo then proclaims himself the new leader of HYDRA. He escapes and activates the Hell-carrier’s self-destruct system. Cap and co escape while Red Skull and Strucker seemingly die. Arnim Zola reactivates fast enough to upload his consciousness off the Hell-carrier.
Cap and co return to Fury’s safe house to find Sharon recovering but not awake just yet.
Cap is relieved that the Red Skull is gone for good and that the only leader of HYDRA left is Baron Zemo making it much easier to take out HYDRA once and for all. In a mid-credits scene Zemo is shown sitting on a throne talking to his new advisor Doctor Faustus. He commends Cap and his team’s ability to work as a team to fight battles that they alone could not win. Zemo believes that although he does not want equals a team would do wonders for him and his battles with the Captain. It is then shown he is looking at files on the Abomination, pictures taken of the Enchantress and the Executioner and Radioactive Man being held in the cube. The Post credit scenes shows the wreckage of the Hell-carrier. It then zooms in on a pile of rubble that moves slightly, indicating either Red Skull or Strucker is alive.
Thor: Ragnarok (2016)- Odin (Loki) discovers that the fire demon Surtur is stirring and is bound to wake up due to the convergence. He knows that if he awakens then Asgard will be destroyed. Seeking to protect himself he recruits multiple champions (this is why Lorelai was requested to be alive by Odin in AoS). Thinking it not enough he releases Thor from the prison he commanded the Enchantress to keep him in but not without revealing his identity to Thor. Thor enraged is about to attack his brother but Loki reveals that Surtur is going to awaken. He says that the only way to ensure his defeat is to destroy the Twilight Sword which will allow Surtur to become fully powered. Thor, the warriors three and Sif all journey to Hel to destroy it.
But Surtur awakens at a faster rate than anticipated and wreaks havoc across the universe to retrieve his sword. While travelling they meet a drifter who’s ship, the Scuttlebutt and in consequence the remainder of his race was destroyed by Surtur. He fights Thor who he views as a threat and Thor is shocked to discover the creature can lift Mjolnir. After a tussle Thor tells the alien that he is worthy and that if he wishes to seek revenge on Surtur he should travel with them. The alien reveals his name to be Beta Ray Bill.They fight their way through the trails and traps of Hel to discover Hela defeated and Surtur with the Twilight Sword. Now setting his eyes on Asgard so he can light his sword using the Eternal Flame in Odin’s vault Surtur carves a path of destruction towards Asgard.
Asgard prepares for war while Beta Ray and Thor stop at Nidavellir to forge Beta Ray a weapon, Stormbreaker. But before they can head out to Asgard Thor sees the Midgard serpent, who was summoned by Surtur heading towards Asgard. Thor and Brat ray then attack the serpent.
The armies of Asgard do battle with Surtur and his fire demons. The Warriors three, Sif, Valkyrie, Enchantress, Lorelai, Executioner even Malekith who is released from prison to fight all combine their might to defeat Surtur. Surtur destroys Odin’s vault and gains the Eternal Flame scattering the remaining artefacts in the process. Loki sits in wait deep beneath Asgard outside a cell designed by “a friend” (Thanos) which holds Odin. Odin tells Loki that he can turn the tide in the War. Hesitant Loki frees Odin.
Odin appears on the battlefield and attacks Surtur. Thor and Beta Ray Bill appear after they have defeated the Midgard Serpent and help Odin take down the beast. But Odin fears he cannot go on for much longer and transfers the remainder of the Odinforce to Thor. Odin dies but is reunited with Frigga. Thor defeats Surtur but the resulting battle has destroyed Asgard completely. Now King, Thor’s main priority is rebuilding Asgard and says Earth can wait. He then goes to Loki saying death is too good for him. Instead he sends him to the Isle of Silence. In the post credit scene the Other appears and gives Thanos the Tesseract saying that it was easy to steal during all the chaos. Thanos grins and says that the Asgardians will no longer be a hindrance to his plan due to his part in awakening Surtur early. The post credit scene shows that many of the items in Odin’s vault have fallen to Earth.
Doctor Strange: Sorcerer Supreme (2016)- Doctor Steven Strange is a brilliant but egotistical Neurosurgeon who has little to no regard for anyone but himself. He is selfish, self-centred and uncompassionate. But after he crash his car due to hallucinating a little girl on the road his hands are damaged. Due to this he can no longer perform surgery and refuses to take a teaching job due to his pride. Strange desperately begins to search for a way to restore his hands, consulting various doctors, homeopathic treatments and traveling around the world to remote regions for exotic cures, all to no avail. He exhausts his funds and is reduced to homelessness. Depressed and still searching, Strange discovers a potential cure from a hermit named the ancient One in the Himalayas.
The Ancient One refuses to help Strange because of his selfishness, but senses a good side that he attempts to bring to the surface. Strange continues to become angry due to the Ancient Ones cryptic nature but the Ancient Ones carer, Wong befriends Strange and tells him to be patient. Wong introduces Strange to the Ancient Ones disciples: Karl Mordo, Wanda Maximoff and Clea. It’s revealed that after Age of Ultron Wanda parted ways with Pietro as she wanted to learn how to control her powers better so she wouldn’t hurt anyone accidentally. She was contacted by the Ancient One in her dreams and beckoned to his sanctuary to hone her magical abilities. After preventing the Ancient Ones murder by one of his disciples Mordo, the AO decides to teach Strange in the art of mysticism. Mordo returns to the being who told him to kill the Ancient One, Nightmare and reveals that he was thwarted. Nightmare says that the assimilation of Earth will not occur if the Sorcerer Supreme is not dead. Mordo says that it will be done.
The AO continues to teach Strange and eventually Strange becomes a powerful sorcerer and is ready to protect the world from magical threats. The Ancient One detects a threat in Italy. Strange fights D’Spayre, one of Nightmares lieutenants and a horde of Fear eaters. He bests D’Spayre only to return to find the Ancient One dying and Mordo escaping. The Ancient One reveals that Strange is destined to be the new Sorcerer Supreme and gives him the Eye of Agamotto. Doctor Strange now the new Sorcerer Supreme goes to the focal point of Nightmares attack. New York City. Wong, Scarlet Witch and Clea all accompany Strange to New York to help fend of Nightmares fear eaters, who are putting people in a state of permanent nightmare. Doctor Strange enters the astral plain to fight Nightmare head on while SW, Wong and Clea fight Baron Mordo and the fear eaters.
Strange manages to hold his own against Nightmare but can’t seem to defeat him entirely. Only after fully accepting who he is does the Eye of Agamotto open and allow him to unleash the full power of the Sorcerer Supreme. Before he can destroy Nightmare permanently he disappears in a blaze. The same happens to Mordo before he can be captured. The people of New York wake up and the fear eaters are banished. Strange decides to transport the Sanctum Sanctorum from Tibet to his old mansion in New York and continues to train Wanda and Clea. Wong also moves into the mansion and Doctor Strange has officially becoming the new Sorcerer Supreme.
The mid credits scene shows a severely weakened Nightmare and Mordo appear in a realm of fire. A voice tells them that they have failed and that Nightmares plan to put all the world to sleep so that the assimilation of Earth would be easy has fallen flat. Nightmare pleads for his life but the voice says he is of no further use. Nightmare then disappears. The voice then says that Mordo can still be of some use and Mordo says he is grateful and that his lord Dormammu is all powerful. The post credit scene shows T’Challa preparing for battle and suiting up as the Black Panther.
Black Panther (2017)- T’Challa is shown returning home from studying abroad. He is escorted by Okeye and W’Kabi, members of the Wakandan elite guard as well as childhood friends of T’Challa. They both give their condolences to T’Challa and it is revealed that his Father has died. In a flashback it is shown that T’Chaka was challenged by a warmongering tyrant named M’Baku the Man Ape to the title as King of Wakanda. Man Ape had a vendetta against T’Chaka as he was proclaimed a better warrior than Man Ape and also married the woman he loved. T’Chaka was a much more skilled warrior than Man Ape, however he was still injured from his fight with Ultron and his army after they invaded Wakanda to obtain Vibranium. Due to tradition T’Chaka had to fight Man Ape. T’Chaka looked to be gaining the upper hand but for some reason T’Chaka began to become weaker and unfocused. Man Ape was the able to defeat him. But he went too far and murdered him.
T’Challa had been told the news and was asked to return to Wakanda. While travelling to the capital however they were attacked by Wakandan elite guard, the Hatut Zeraze. They then tried to kill T’Challa but he fought back aided by W’Kabi and Okeye. They said that it was the will of King M’Baku. After defeating the assassins W’Kabi and Okeye lead T’Challa to a secret location that very few new about. The Sanctuary of the Black Panther.
There an old friend was waiting for him. T’Chaka’s loyal advisor Zuri. Zuri knew that Man Ape would try and draw T’Challa to Wakanda so he can snuff out the bloodline. T’Challa’s mother and sister had been moved out the country to keep them safe. Zuri then reveals that he allowed T’Challa to return so that he can become the new Black Panther and defeat Man Ape to reclaim the throne. T’Challa accepts but Zuri says that the trails to becoming the Black Panther are only for those who are worthy.
He is sent into the jungle to the City of Death, Necropolis and is given three trails by the Panther God. He completes each trail proving his strength, intelligence and fighting prowess. He is then given a secret final task to prove his ability to lead and be a king. He completes that trail and is transported to a room populated by all the past Black Panthers. T’Chaka then appears and presents T’Challa with the heart shaped herb which gives all Black Panthers their powers. T’Challa emerges from Necropolis a new man. His sense have all been heightened and his strength, speed, stamina and agility are at superhuman levels.
He returns to the Sanctuary and Zuri says he is ready for his birth right. He enters a room only accessible by the blood of the King and finds the Black Panther uniform waiting for him. T’Chaka then puts on the suit and says he is ready to face Man Ape.
T’Challa sneaks into the royal place and discovers Man Ape talking with an outsider. He discovers that Man Ape did not win the battle fairly. He had assistance from the outsider named Ulysses Klaw. He was a scientist obsessed with Vibranium and sought to study it, however T’Chaka refused to allow him access to the Vibranium mines of Wakanda. With the little he had he invented a weapon which used Vibranium to create devastating sound waves. He used this to weaken T’Chaka during the fight which allowed Man Ape to win. Man Ape then grants Klaw access to the Vibranium mound to uphold his end of the bargain. When Klaw leaves, T’Challa reveals himself and fights his way through the most elite of Wakanda warriors even his own Uncle who swore allegiance to Man Ape to save himself. T’Challa finally confronts Man Ape and they fight. T’Challa eventually manages to defeat him inadvertently ending his life by letting him fall of the Palace balcony.
T’Challa then pursues Klaw who has upgraded his weapon. But the weapon backfires and transforms Klaw into living sound. T’Challa uses his intelligence to defeat him by disrupting his frequency and Klaw is scattered. T’Challa takes the throne and is crowned King. He then dissolves most of the old laws saying that the old ways lead to Man Apes tyranny being a reality, but he also says that the past is important and that we should never forget it. He disbands the Hatut Zeraze and creates the Dora Milaje as the new protectors of Wakanda appointing Okeye as their leader.
T’Challa and Zuri then meet in the Sanctuary and discuss what to do next. T’Challa says that his father has left him many things that he must investigate. While sifting through his father’s files he finds a disc which shows surveillance of not just Earth but other planets. The disc contains a recording showing the fall of Asgard and T’Challa realises that the Earth is in grave danger. A mid credits scene shows Klaw reforming in the middle of nowhere. He is weak and unable to keep himself together. Then Baron Zemo approaches him and offers his help and that they would both benefit from a mutual partnership. The Post credits scene shows Peter Quill sending an SOS and attempting to escape from an unknown force.
The Indestructible Hulk (2017)- Bruce Banner has given up trying to live a quiet life and be left alone. He’s decided to honour the death of Iron Man and put the Hulk to good use, as a hero and a force for good. Bruce, with the help of Black Widow managed to contact Fury and asked to work with him. Fury reveals to Banner that he has been secretly rebuilding SHIELD as a top secret, clandestine organization that not even the government know about. Using his ties Fury has managed to supply this new SHIELD which is only made up of a few hundred members that can be trusted completely. Bruce along with Betty decide to stay at Fury’s secret HQ and Bruce says to Fury that if there’s a problem just aim the Hulk in the right direction.
After HYDRA laid waste to a multitude of old SHIELD facilities back in 2015, Samuel Sterns and many other gamma mutants escaped from the Cube. Biding his time Sterns has been secretly plotting his revenge. He and been captured and experimented on by SHIELD for years, most of all he wants revenge on Bruce Banner for dragging him into such horrible circumstances. When he escaped he took two of the prisoners who were in solitary confinement, Crusher Creel aka the Absorbing Man and the creature made of living electricity Zzzax, both experiments from the Cube who wanted to get even. Instead of leaving Sterns told the two gamma mutants to clear the Cube of HYDRA and SHIELD agents as this will be his new base. Now calling himself the Leader, Sterns has been lying in wait for the precise moment to strike.
After observing Fury’s new covert SHIELD and the Hulk go on mission for him, the Leader knew how to distract Fury and his biggest obstacle the Hulk so that they do not interfere with his plan. The Leader sense the Absorbing Man to Las Vegas to cause chaos so that the Hulk will be distracted. Fury sends Banner to deal with the problem and the Hulk and Absorbing Man duke it out destroying a portion of Las Vegas in the process. General Ross who now works for HAMMER, witnesses this act of destruction and uses it as a way to convince the council that the Hulk is out of control despite all the good he’s done a san Avengers. He claims that the Hulk simply cannot be controlled and that they should go ahead with Operation: Zero Tolerance.
The Council agree to Ross’s proposition and he tells Talbot to force Samson to finish the project. Doc Samson has been working for HAMMER sense its founding and was working on a cure for the Hulk but instead they forced him to build gamma powered weapons. Fearing for his life he finished the project and the new and improved Hulkbuster unit is dispatched. Mandroids fuelled by Gamma energy cores which would be able to go toe to toe with the Hulk.
On his way to return to Fury’s base the Hulk is attacked by the Mandroids. He tries to fight them but they make use of the sonic cannons that where sued on him before as well as a weapon that drains gamma energy slowly weakening the Hulk. Eventually the Hulk turns back into Bruce banner and the Mandroids capture him. Being held in a HAMMER cell Ross tells Bruce that he’s won and that he’ll never escape from this pit. The Leader then seizes this opportunity to reveal his plan. He has created a machine which will transform the whole world into gamma monsters, creating a world where he is the smartest, a world where he is truly their Leader. Seeing this HAMMER send the Hulkbusters to deal with it but Leader has given Zzzax and Absorbing Man gamma enhancement machines which increase their power tenfold. They easily destroy the Hulkbusters and Hammer have no choice but to let the Hulk go. Banner says this isn’t over and turns into the Hulk escaping his prison.
He along with a group of radiation protected SHIELD agents attack the Leaders stronghold, the Cube. However Zzzax uses his powers to breach their suits turning them into Gamma mutants. The Hulk is then overwhelmed by the gamma mutants and Zzzax. The Hulk then becomes even more angry and knocks the gamma mutants off him knocking them out I none blow. He then fights Zzzax and manages to defeat him by using a makeshift lightning rod to ground Zzzax. The Hulk then enters the Cube and discovers that the Leader isn’t even in the Cube. The Leader then appears on a screen taunting the Hulk and says that he’s at the HAMMER Hulkbuster base the Hulk was being held at. The Leader then shows that he has Betty captured with him as well.
The Hulk gets to the HAMMER Hulkbuster base in New Mexico as soon as possible but is stopped buy the one thing that could defeat him. The Abomination. Blonsky also has a gamma enhancement machine which has made him strong beyond measure. He and the Hulk have a battle but the Abominations blows are so hard they send shockwaves through the desert. The Hulk cannot fight anymore and is on the brink of defeat until he hears Betty’s screams of agony which make him angrier than he’s ever been before. His skin begins to glow green (indicating he has become the Worldbreaker incarnation) and he begin to pummel the Abomination, the fight is intense until the Hulk beats the Abomination to near death and then punches him so hard he’s sent flying.
The Hulk then enters the base and confronts the Leader the Leader then asks why he would want to stop him as he would be a god in the Leaders Gamma world. The Leader then offers Hulk the chance to join him. The Hulk refuses and attacks the Leader, however the Leader has appropriated one of the Mandroids and has enhanced it far beyond its original capabilities. He begins to siphon the gamma energy form the Hulk but this time instead of turning back into Banner the Hulk keeps getting angrier and angrier then finally lets out an omnidirectional blast of gamma energy destroying the Leaders Mandroid and knocking him out. The blast however has caused the base to collapse. The Hulk escapes with Betty and they return to the Fury’s secret base.
From the wreckage Doc Samson is recovered but has been exposed to Gamma radiation and is rushed to hospital. Ross who was in the base as well is fired from HAMMER stripped of his rank and is shunned by all his old colleagues. While preparing to leave the control he gets extremely angry after seeing the Hulk being celebrated as a hero on the news and is horrified to see that his skin has begun to turn red. Banner decides that maybe it’s time to retire from being a hero for a while and he and Betty then leave flowers at Tony Starks grave. The Mid-credits scene is Bruce walking down the street when he is suddenly teleported to a dark room. A voice tells him that he is in no danger and that they need Dr Banner’s expertise. Bruce asks who they are and a light turns on showing T’Challa, Stephen Strange, Hank Pym and the Vision sitting at a table. T’Challa says that they the enlightened and they have a problem that needs solving.
The post-credits scene shows Blonsky recovering in a hospital bed. Baron Zemo then walks towards him and says that “you need your rest if he is to aid us in our plan”. Blonsky the asks who they are then from the shadows the Enchantress, Klaw, Radioactive Man, the Executioner then Zemo replies “the worlds future Masters”.
Guardians of the Galaxy: The Thanos Imperative (2017)- The Guardians are now hailed as heroes across the galaxy. Although their methods are unorthodox and usually end in lots of public property damage they get the job done and have saved multiple worlds. However Drax and Gamora have been off scouring the Galaxy for Thanos so the team got some replacements. Quasar and Mantis. However sense the Nova Corps does not 100% trust the Guardians they put their own man on the team, Richard Rider aka Nova. The Guardians are then called to investigate a disturbance on the planet Moord, the Badoon homeworld. Due to the Badoons unruly nature they go in on a stealth mission leaving Rocket on the ship. In the swamplands of Moor they discover a man with gold skin in a crater. They try to help him but he begins to scream alerting the Badoon.
Star Lord, Quasar, Mantis, Groot and Nova fight of the hordes of the Badoon and escape in the Milano. Star Lord contacts Gamora asking her if she knows who or what the man is. Once he described him Gamora is shocked and says that they are coming to the Milano right now. The man then wakes up and reveals his name to be Adam Warlock, but that’s all he can remember. Rocket regards the strange gen implanted in his forehead and Adam replies he has no idea what it is. Suddenly the Milano is attacked by Captain Mar-Vell and a group of Kree warriors. After staving off the attack and escaping Quasar and Nova agree that Mar-Vell would never do such a thing and his actions where very uncharacteristic of him. They considered him a friend after he helped defeat Ronan the Accuser.
Drax and Gamora arrive and star Lord tells them what happened. Gamora says that Mar-Vells behaviour is probably due to one of Thanos’ minions, the Controller. Mar-Vell was on the trail of Thanos as Gamora had asked him to look into it but he and his crew had disappeared a couple of weeks ago. The Controller probably used his slave disks to take control of Mar-Vell so that he could attack and retrieve Adam Warlock as well as stop him for searching for Thanos. Star Lord asks why Adam is so important and Gamora reveals that the gem on his forehead is the Soul Jewel one of the Infinity Stones. They need to keep Adam safe as he is extremely valuable to not just Thanos but others.
The Controller then sends Mar-Vell to Sirus X, the base of the Universal Church of Truth. He then reveals that the ‘Magus’ has returned and that he has been kidnapped by the so called Guardians of the Galaxy. The UCT then put together a team of their most powerful warriors, the Cardinals. On the Milano Gamora tells Star Lord that they need to find Thanos now more than ever. She tells him that his plan will end with nothing less than the death of everything and if they don’t stop him he will be unstoppable if he’s aloud to gain all the Infinity Stones. She asks if the Sphere is still safe and he says that it’s on Xandar protected by a battalion of Nova Centurions.
The Milano needs to refuel as it is damaged and needs to be repaired as well. The nearest spaceport in the massive space faring metropolis, Dynamo City. While refuelling and rebuilding Adam Warlock has flashbacks about his past and a creature of unimaginable power called Magus. Star Lord, Gamora and Rocket decide to go visit the informant that Drax and Gamora were going to visit before they returned to the Milano. They enter a bar (a nod to Mos Eisely Cantina) and find their informant, a women who claims to be psychic who goes by the name of Moondragon. She tells them that she used to be part of Thanos’ crew but she left due to some misunderstandings. She’s been on the run ever since as no one escapes from Thanos. She reveals that Thanos’ ship Sanctuary II is stationed in deep space outside of the Milky Way Galaxy. Suddenly Dynamo City is attacked by the UCT as well as Mar-Vell and his forces. The Guardians quickly take what they can and run.
Knowing that going to the edge of the Galaxy to face Thanos may be a one way trip they decide to stop one more time at Knowhere to stock supplies and weapons. Gamora tells Star Lord they should leave Adam at Knowhere but Star Lord says that he could give them the edge they need to defeat Thanos. The rest of the team except Drax agree that an Infinity Stone will increase their chances against the Mad Titan, Gamora says this is a bad idea but decides to trust Star Lords instincts. They then travel to Sanctuary II. They leave the Milky Way Galaxy and enter place that looks exactly like the place Thanos and the Other were at the end of the Avengers. They then see a massive ship the size of a large city floating. Gamora tells the group that it’s Sanctuary II and she has returned home.
They then split into two teams. Star Lord, Drax, Gamora. Nova and Quasar will sneak into Sanctuary II and try to find a way to destroy it thus crippling Thanos’ power while Groot, Rocket and Mantis stay on board and guard Adam Warlock. Star Lords team infiltrate Sanctuary II and find the engine. Gamora then sets it to overload and says they have 20 minutes to escape and clear the blast radius. But before they can leave the Controller appears and tells them they aren’t leaving until Lord Thanos returns. He then activates a machine which reveals how the Chitauri are made and function. The Controller’s slave disk receiver controls all creatures under the influence of a slave disk as well as the Chitauri who can’t function without it.
Star Lords team fights them while Rocket’s team has to deal with the UCT and Mar-Vell who was summoned by the Controller. Star Lord manages to destroy the Controllers machine rendering the Chitauri useless and freeing Mar-Vell and his Kree warriors from his control. Mar-Vell explains to the UCT that they have been deceived and that the controller is the real enemy. The Guardians, the Kree and the UFC all join forces to defeat the Controller and escape from Sanctuary II before it self-destructs. They decide to celebrate their victory but before they can Thanos appears.
Finally tired of letting others fail he decides to take matters into his own hands. Thanos singlehandedly defeats the UCT, Mar-Vell and his Kree warriors and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Gamora then tells Star Lord to run and send an SOS to all their allies, especially Earth as that is where he will head first. Star Lord escapes and sends an SOS to everyone warning them that Thanos is going to war. Thanos plucks the Soul Jewel from Adam Warlocks head and asks the other if Ronan has done his job. It is revealed that Thanos was absent as he was freeing Ronan from prison, he then sent him to Xandar to get the Sphere from the Nova Corps. Now Thanos has all 6 Infinity stones and all he needs is the gauntlet, which is on Earth.
The Other is revealed to be Corvus Glaive and readies the rest of Thanos’ generals: Proxima Midnight, Supergiant, Black Dwarf and Ebony Maw. The Cull Obsidian, Thanos’ most elite prepare for an invasion of Earth aboard Sanctuary III an even bigger warship. The mid credit scene is a trailer the Avengers: Infinity War and the Post credits scene is a montage of Thanos’ path of destruction towards the Earth.
The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 (2018)- It would take to long for me to explain what happens in part 1 and 2 so I’ll just give you the gist of it all. The Illuminate have been monitoring Thanos’ trajectory and have confirmed he is headed towards Earth. They have no idea what he wants and why he wants it but they know they must stop him. They contact Captain America and tell him they need to put together the Avengers again. Cap assembles a team to go into space to deal with the Thanos threat. He gets Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Iron Man (Rhodey), Doctor Strange, the Vision, Ms Marvel and Hulk to join his team and they use a Quinjet that has been fitted for space travel by the Black Panther.
On their way to Thanos they meet Star Lord who has amassed an army himself from the Badoon, the Kree, the Rigellians, Ronan the Accuser who has had a change of heart due to seeing all the chaos Thanos has brought when he thought he would bring order and a whole host of faces from the Marvel cosmic universe (including original Guardians like Yondu, Vance Astro and Starhawk) who all join forces to face Thanos’ forces head on. An epic battle against Thanos takes place but he fights smart suing the Tesseract to send his biggest threat, The Hulk to another galaxy. However numbers and raw power eventually beat back Thanos before he reveals that he was simply a distraction for the real prize. Thanos has sent his Cull Obsidian ahead to Earth to get the Gauntlet. And now the Earth is Avengerless the Cull Obsidian and their armies can wreak havoc.
Except its revealed that Black Panther (who claimed he would only protect Wakanda until Hawkeye infiltrated Wakanda and earned his respect convincing T’Challa to help defend the world) has assembled his own team of Avengers. Consisting of Daredevil, Power Man, Iron Fist, Jewel, Ant Man, Wasp, Yellowjacket, Black Widow, Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Intermission: Planet Hulk (2018)- Just a break from Infinity War that details where the Hulk landed, his journey as a Warbound to freedom fighter and then to ruler of Sakaar. At the end Hulk says that he has friends that he needs to help and amasses and army to aid the fight against Thanos.
The Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 (2019)- Black Panthers team splits up into groups of 4 to combat each general. Black Panther, Hawkeye and Yellowjacket take on Corvus Glaive outside of Wakanda. Ant Man, Wasp and Black Widow take on Proxima Midnight in New York. Power Man, Iron Fist and Jewel fight Black Dwarf in the Savage Land. Falcon, Winter Soldier and Daredevil fight Supergiant in Madripoor.
Back in space Captain America, Star Lord and Ronan attempt to break out their teammates and allies form Sanctuary III. They do and the two teams head to Earth as fast as they can. Back on Earth, the team’s fights have been for naught as Ebony Maw has retrieved the Gauntlet after his army defeated Namor at the Mariana trench. Thanos then takes out all the infinity stones. Their power leaving the stones and entering the 6 gems in the gauntlet.
Thanos now has unlimited power. However before he can use it he is attacked by Hulk and an army of Sakaaran who stopped on the way to pick up All Father Thor and his army of Asgardians. They all fight and Cap manages to remove the time gem. He then uses it to summon Iron Man and the Invaders. Thanos claims the gem back but he has to deal with The Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy + Ronan, the Invaders, the Sakaarans and the Asgardians.
In an epic battle unlike anything we’ve ever seen only two remain on the battlefield. Thanos and Cap. The famous scene from the infinity gauntlet is enacted and Thanos shatters Caps shield.
Many lay dead but those who are not rise up and fight Thanos one more time, Cap manages to retrieve the infinity gauntlet and becomes the first being ever to use it completely. Cap uses it to erase Thanos form the universe and resurrect his fallen comrades. He sends the Invaders back and everyone says their goodbyes to Tony before Cap sends him back. Cap then wills the gauntlet out of existence before the power destroys his body. The entire universe has been saved and the world in entering anew age. A Heroic Age.
