Yeah, I know you are probably sick of seeing The Invaders being fan-cast, but I've got some new suggestions that I think are pretty good, which is all that really matters right? Anyway, with out further ado, here are my choices for The Invaders:
I am not choosing anyone for Captain America as I am a big supporter of Johnston and Marvel picking someone who is a true unknown for the role. I would rather see this than see Ackles, McPartlin or anyone else that has been presented. That includes Hammer, LEEE...=)
I know that most people out there are wanting Jamie Bell for this role, which I have no problem with at all, as he is a very talented actor. I'd have no problem with him stepping into the role. However, I wanted to throw out a new name and one that is probably unexpected. I chose Skandar Keynes for Bucky. Most of you know him from his part(s) in "Chronicles of Narnia" films. He has consistently been the stand-out star of those films and has a bright future as an actor. He is English, but I think he'd be able to lose the accent (or gain one, depending on how you look at it).
For Union Jack, I did things a bit backwards and chose an American actor, Casey Affleck. Casey is an AMAZING actor and has shown himself to be very capable to handle a role like this. I'd love to see him take on more of an action role and I think he'd do great as Union Jack.
Here's another odd selection. For the original Human Torch, I chose Billy Burke. Burke has had many roles on television as well as side roles in many films. Most recently, he played a role in the "Twilight" films. Yeah, that's right. Burke was, hands down, the best actor in those films and is quite under-rated as an actor.
I, like others have said, would rather just have one flaming dude featured, but if Toro is to be included, I'd like to see Ryan Gosling play the part. I don't think I need to go into detail about Gosling, I hope that most of you know how talented an actor he is. Gosling is easily one of the top young stars out there today and has a bright future in front of him.
I am bound and determined to see Ali Larter in a comic book film (other than her crappy characters in "Heroes"). I think she'd be a great Emma Frost, but that's another article. I chose her as Spitfire because I think she has the confidence and the skills to pull off the character. Not to mention she's hot.
I don't remember who was the first person to suggest this casting, but I think it is absolute genius. I believe that Jonathan Rhys Meyers has the look and the name to carry the role of Namor from "The First Avenger" to a stand-alone film for the character. He's a great actor to boot!
I thought Jessica Biel kicked ass in her role in "Blade Trinity." Yeah, the movie wasn't great, but she owned the roles as Abigail Whistler. I'd like to see what she can do as Miss America. Did I mention she's hot?
Kevin McKidd, who at one time was rumored to be up for the role of Thor, is one of my favorite actors. It's a shame he's wasting his skills on "Grey's Anatomy" right now. Anyways, McKidd could add a unique flavor to the role of The Whizzer (who came up with that name, by the way?)
Villains:
Mads Mikkelsen as Red Skull. Do I need to explain myself here?
This is where I might loose you. I chose Victor Garber for Baron Zemo. Garber has had roles on television as well as film and has consistently shown that he can manage many different types of roles. He's got a great voice and could easily be taken seriously in a scientist role.
Here's another that may draw some fire. Stanley Tucci doesn't really need any praise. His abilities have shown no bounds, as his most recent role in "The Lovely Bones" has displayed. My only qualm about this choice is his age, but I think it could work.
There you have it. Let me know what you think of these choices!
