FAN MADE: Possible Option for MCU Wolverine Mask

FAN MADE: Possible Option for MCU Wolverine Mask

How would a real and grounded wolverine mask look in the MCU? Would they use a possible Samurai/Japan connection for its origin?

These photo-edits below may not have turned out the best but while I was creating them it got me thinking… if the studios were ever to introduce a mask or a suit for Hugh in The Wolverine, it would be really interesting if they incorporated some elements of a samurai warriors face guard to the overall look as a way of Logan paying homage to the lessons he learnt and the people that that helped changed his life while in Japan. (“The Samurai had a code of honor called bushido. This warrior code called for honor, loyalty, and bravery”)

Within the comic universe, Wolverines’ experiences in Japan affected him immensely and contributed to the depth of his character. I think introducing a mask in context of these connections could be a fascinating approach to bring his well-known mask or a suit into the cinematic universe in a real and grounded way.

Just some thoughts…

I don't think it's terrible, it just looks a little animated, which looks a bit odd against the real person Wolverine. And it looks like he has a mustache. But I think you should keep practicing with it!

Cheers SAT, the mustache is part of the authentic face-guard but i think i should do away with it and try another variation.

Shaving off the mustache would be a great leap forward, but I still think the whole helmet looks silly.

I'm still on the "no" camp for Wolverine's suit. At least, for his solo movies. I can understand that he puts on a suit in the X-Men movies as a way to unify all the X-Men, just like every player in a sports team wears the shirt no matter their position.

Even though I think it looks (real) bad u might be on to something. It's possible that they will do something like this in the movie, albeit much better. Being that this is in Japan they might have him wear a similar, more form fitting mask. U might have just made some of us see a real possibility of Logan wearing, if only for one scene, something reminiscent of his mask. Kudos on that, at least

ok, ok I get that it looks bad :-) cheers on the origin idea though - I honestly think it could work, at least for the stand-alone flick anyway. I guess if they were to introduce another mask in DOFP or other possible movies they could do a more future/modern representation of the origin concept... or not

It's just not natural haha
And I'm sorry, it just doesn't look good lol
I'm on the "avoid the costume at all costs" side of things but I like where you're going with it, but it just flat out wouldn't work in a movie
Even when I'm reading the comics I think about how I'd prob bust out laughing if I saw him in real life
Nice try though!

cheers for the feedback DioFoRio really appreciate it mate. I think if done right the concept could work - even if they introduced it as a late addition or as an end-credit scene.. dunno
