Fancast: From Russia with Love

Fancast: From Russia with Love

This is my fancast for From Russia with Love, based on the Ian Fleming novel.

First off, this would be a more modern adaption of the novel (similar to how Casino Royale was updated for modern audiences.

For the director, I decided on Joe Wright, I know that you all may be thinking "WTF?" since this is the guy that directed Atonement and Pride & Prejudice. However, his film Hanna convinced me that the guy can direct a good thriller.

Anyway, on with the cast!!

Heroes:

Tom Hardy as James Bond: A British MI6 agent who is sent to Isanbul to assist in thedefection of a Soviet cipher clerk named Tatiana Romanova, who may know the location of a Vektor decoding machine. In his private life, he is a womanizer who has a taste for Vodka martinis "shaken, not stirred".

Reason for Casting: I casted Hardy based on his performances in Inception (where he played the charismatic type) and Bronson (where he played the tough and edgy type). According to CBM users Hellsing and Superdude001, Michael Fassbender would be better for Bond (since he's sort of a tribute to the earlier Bonds), but I prefer Hardy.

Bill Nighy as M: The head of MI6 and Bond's superior.

Reason for Casting: I think Nighy is a great actor and would fit the role of M nicely.

Hugh Laurie as Q: The head of Q-Branch who supplies Bond with a specially modified briefcase and a .25 caliber Armilite sniper rifle.

Reason for Casting: he guy is brilliant on House.

Billie Piper as Miss Moneypenny: M's secretary and assistant, who has a flirtatious relationship with Bond.

Reason for Casting: I love her Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

Anil Kapoor as Ali Kerum Bay: The of MI6's "Station T" in Turkey.

Reason for Casting: The man was great in Tezaab and Slumdog Millionaire.

Bond Girls:

Yvonne Strahovski as Tatiana Romanova: A cipher clerk working in the Soviet consulate who is used as an unwitting pawn in SPECTRE's (SPecial Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion) plans to obtain a Lektor decoding machine and assassinate Bond.

Reason for Casting: She's pretty good on Chuck.

Cate Blanchett as Rosa Klebb: A former SMERSH Colonel, now SPECTRE's Chief Planning Officer.

Reason for Casting: She played an excellent villain in Hanna.

Robert Knepper as Donald "Red" Grant: A cunning and deadly SPECTRE assasin, who uses garroting wire as his preferred weapon.

Reason for Casting: I almost went with Tom Hollander, but I felt that it would be too similar to Hanna. I decided on Knepper since he is great in Prision Break.

Christoph Waltz as "Number 1": The mysterious head of SPECTRE, who orders the killing of James Bond in retaliation for the murder of SPECTRE agent Julius No.

Reason for Casting: Waltz is a brilliant actor and was great in Inglorious Basterds, The Green Hornet, and Water for Elephants.

Tom hardy is too scruffy looking to be Bond. I think Michael fassbender is a much better choice. The rest of the cast is good tho.

I like this. Hardy is a great choice imo. Altogether, solid choices. I also like modernizing the novels. Great idea.

@Despro Thanks.

@wolverinefury Weird, I chose Matthew Vaughn as the direct for my previous Bond cast.

@SUPERBATSPIDERMAN Fair enough. And I'm glad you like the rest of the cat.

@ager Thank you for agreeing with me.

@NinjaTurtleFan I agree that you shouldn't mess with the classics, but I'm glad that you like Waltz.

@HailToTheKingBaby Thanks, and Hardy not being fond of adaptations shouldn't really matter. We can dream, can't we? ;)

@Gasmasquerade Thank you.

Michael Fassbender is the next Bond, there is no one better suited for that role, Fassbender would own as Bond

@SuperDude001 Thanks man!! Star Trek will be up pretty soon.

@Shadow11 I'm sorry, but I'm having a hard time seeing Fassbender as Bond.
