Before i start, i should say for those wondering: Yes, i will be posting more chapters to my MCU but i'm taking a little break to post some other non related fancasts and fanfics i've been working on for a while.
So i started with Green Lantern. This could be seen as a complete reboot to lead to a hopeful Justice League film, but i doubt they're going to recast all the characters. Seeing as most people hated the film though, you never know. I personally don't believe it was Ryan Reynolds fault, he did good with what he had. You can't blame it all on him. Anyways, here is the trilogy outline i'd go with.
Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn
A test pilot is given a powered ring by a dying alien and becomes the first ever human Green Lantern. Along the way of becoming Earth’s protector, he becomes one of the greatest Green Lanterns ever, gaining respect of Sinestro, a leader in the Green Lantern Corps. But his greatest challenge yet comes when Sinestro succumbs to the yellow power of fear and becomes an enemy of the Green Lantern Corps. Hal Jordan is faced with the challenge of becoming fearless to defeat his greatest enemy yet.
Green Lantern II: Empire of Rage
Becoming one of the leaders of the Green Lantern Corps after defeating Sinestro, all is good for Hal Jordan until he is faced with a new enemy. Atrocitus, a man who was forced to watch a member of the rogue Manhunters team kill his wife and daughter, is hell bent on destroying the Guardians of the Universe and all who serve them. Atroticus manages to convince several Green Lanterns to join him, and in the process creates an army of several Green Lanterns and forms an “Empire of Rage ”,using red power rings. Atrocitus is only stopped when Hal Jordan manages to defeat him and his empire.
Note: In the comics, Atrocitus' empire is actually called "Empire of Tears" i just thought that sounded pretty non-intimidating for a super-villain so i renamed it to Empire of Rage, because that is what the Red ring feeds on, and it is more intimidating
Green Lantern III: Brightest Day, Blackest Night
Hal and Carol Ferris have finally found peace and are planning to get married. With his career as a Green Lantern possibly coming to an end, the Guardians choose a backup. US War veteran, John Stewart is chosen by the Guardians to succeed Hal. Meanwhile, a super villain named Mongul, a long time enemy of the Guardians, destroys Coast City, forcing Hal Jordan into madness for not being able to stop him. Jordan kills several Green Lanterns and Guardians, and it is revealed he has been overtaken by Parallax, an alien being who possesses the yellow power of Fear. John Stewart becomes a primary Green Lantern, seeking revenge on Jordan, until he finally decides to spare his life after realizing he and Ferris have are having a baby. Jordan is saved, and is stripped of his ring until further notice, but he seems happy living with his wife. The trilogy ends with Stewart narrating about how he plans to help rebuild Coast City, and restore peace in Oa. He then speaks the Green Lantern oath.
That's the end of the stories. I know usually my stories are longer and MUCH, much more detailed, but i thought i'd just give the general outline.
Onto the cast...
Director: David Yates (Harry Potter 5-8)
Yates has proven himself to be good at fantasy type movies, directing the last four movies of the critically acclaimed Harry Potter franchise.
Jensen Ackles as Hal Jordan aka Green Lantern
Ackles is a fan favourite to cast here. I've seen him cast as so much characters, from Deadpool to Hawkeye to Captain America. Out of all of them, i think it would be best if he was Hal Jordan. He could bring alot to the role and really make it his own.
Evangeline Lilly as Carol Ferris
By no means a groundbreaking pick here, Lilly is the person i think of when it comes to Ferris in a movie. I believe she would own the role.
Omari Hardwick as John Stewart
I loved Hardwick in Kick-Ass, even if he only had a minor role. He proved himself as able to play likable characters. Although a small role, it's what helped me decide to cast him as John Stewart. I believe he would be able to pull of the nice guy, but tough Stewart, and also the tortured soul, as he is a war veteran, and has trouble forgetting the memories of his time overseas.
Gary Oldman as Thaal Sinestro
Oldman is possibly one of the best actors when it comes to playing villains. I originally saw this choice on @MrBlueSky's Green Lantern fancast, and to me it made perfect sense. I know Oldman is already in a DC series (The Dark Knight Trilogy) but who cares? He could be great in the role, maybe even better than Mark Strong?
Kevin Grevioux as Atrocitus
I haven't seen him in all to much, but he had a deep voice and could really give off the menacing and scary attitude you get when seeing Atrocitus, a really badass villain.
Jim Parsons as Tomar-Re (Voice)
Parsons has a voice i can easily imagine as Tomar-Re. He is unbelievably funny in CBS' "The Big Bang Theory" and i'd love to see him in the role.
Dwayne Johnson as Kilowog (Voice)
I really have no problem with MCD in the role, but i figured i'd recast it anyways, and Dwayne Johnson was the obvious person to choose. Although i'd much rather see him in other CBM roles (Black Adam) before this one, it would be pretty cool.
Michael Clarke Duncan as Mongul (Voice)
I know i'm basically contradicting what i just said in my reasoning for Kilowog, and yes, i know he already voices someone in Green Lantern, but he is perfect for intimidating voice roles, such as Mongul.
Peter Woodward as Abin-Sur
Woodward would be perfect for Abin-Sur.
Octavia Spencer as Amanda Waller
After Spencer's breakout role as Minny in "The Help" for which she won an Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress, i think it would be cool to see her in a CBM, and Amanda Waller is a role she seems to fit.
