Next year, DC is launching its DCEU with Batman v Superman and we sure have good times ahead, so what if we first make a quick review on the good and the bad of what the studio has shown us so far?

Superman Returns
The Bad:
-No fighting
-Superman being a creepy emo
-Superman abandoning Earth for some reason
-Superman having a son

The Good:
-Some really iconic scenes (plane, bullet-eye, meditating over earth, lifting the island)
-Tribute to the Christopher Reeve movies
-Human Drama
-Lex Luthor’s wigs (just kidding)

The Dark Knight Trilogy
The Bad:
-Batman (voice, suit, fighting, lack of detective skills)
-Action (bad and boring)
-Setting (too real, I liked the setting of the Arkham games better)
-TDKR (inconsistency, abundant plotholes, short british Bane, bad Catwoman suit)

The Awesome:
-Cast/ Characters (motivations, development, Bruce Wayne, THE JOKER, Ra’s al Ghul, Harvey Dent, Alfred, Gordon, Rachel, Gotham)
-Script (story, themes, suspense, philosophy)
-Music

Green Lantern
The Bad:
-Everything

The Good:
-Mark Strong
-Ryan Reynolds maybe?

Man of Steel
The Bad:
-Tone (dark, it scared my little sister)
-Script (bad, inconsistent)
-Superman character (non-existant, neck-snaping)
-Weird Superman-Messiah/Jesus references
-Superman-Lois kiss while thousands die behind them
-Jonathan Kent (completely contradictory and irrational, tornado death)

The Good:
-Henry Cavill
-VISUALS/ACTION (the best in any cbm ever)

Note: Its weird how much this movie and Returns complement each other, both lack what the other one has.

Thats all guys! What do you think? Please comment on your thoughts below!

For me, Returns and MOS lacked the same thing, a fully realized characterization for Superman.

Uh Oh

You've opened a door, you don't know how to close. You don't know anything about what's coming.
What is coming?

But yeah, I agree with almost everything you said about these movies.

I would have added the human drama as a plus to Superman Returns as I feel it worked.

I honestly think the scenes they are in Oa in Green Lantern are great.

@SteveRogers9 I agree. Neither of them had much deep dialogue.

@dethpillow I completely agree about Cavill and added him to the article.

@PesciGotPepsi I kind of agree about the drama in Returns (i dont cared much about it). But i have added this too.

@Emblemmaniac Maybe some part. But the CGI in those was bad and i just hated that training scene. I just feel that GL's powers could be so much cooler. Plus the Guardians had some weird bubbles on their heads. GL is more suited to the tone of MOS, not the tone of Spiderman.

As a dc movie fan, I disagree with a lot of these.

@neihofft

It's his opinion. I dislike some stuff they do in Marvel films but still call myself a big fan because no film is perfect

Myself, I only disagree that Superman Returns' drama with Clark is a plus
