My Ideas For Fede Alvarez's Evil Dead 2

In case you haven't heard, there are three more films planned for the Evil Dead series. They are: a sequel to Fede Alvarez's film, Sam Raimi's Army of Darkness 2 starring Bruce Campbell, and a film crossing the stories of Ash and Mia. In a series of 3 articles, I will talk about my thoughts for each one, in the order I think they will be released.

First up, Fede Alvarez's Evil Dead 2. Let's face it, this is probably going to be released first. Only when talks get really serious about the crossover film will Raimi buckle down and actually make another Army of Darkness. So, here is how I would make the film.

The tone of this film will be like that of the 2013 remake. Very gory and intense, with very little humor. Because Sam Raimi is doing Army of Darkness 2, that is where the comedy can be. I feel that the Mia series should be the one that is intense and frightening, whereas Ash can have a bit more levity in his movies.

It begins right after Evil Dead 2013. Mia, in shock and losing blood, makes it to the main road and is rescued. When the police investigate, they come to the conclusion that Mia killed everybody. After she insists that demons did it, they send her to a mental institution, located in the middle of the woods. Mia is just glad to be somewhere that she feels safe. But, unbeknownst to her, the Book of the Dead was recovered as evidence and is now inside the hospital. As her psychiatrist reads through it, he casually reads some passages aloud, in an effort to pronounce some of the words. That, of course, unleashes the evil force which begins to possess people in the hospital. Mia must fight her way through an army of Deadites in order to escape. But first she must find the Book of the Dead, and destroy it. She fights her way through unrelenting waves of possessed prisoners and doctors, until she finds the Book. But, in a twist, as she opens it she is possessed and the demon Mia escapes from the hospital as the film ends.

This will lead into the Evil Dead crossover film. But before that, I have an article on Army of Darkness 2 coming. The purpose of that movie will be to explain the back story of the Book of the Dead and the evil force.
