My Scarlett Speedster FanCast

My Scarlett Speedster FanCast

This is my fan cast for a Flash movie series. I hope you like it. Its the first fan cast I've done in almost a year so if it isn't the best, my bad. Though I haven't posted anything on the sight in a while I still check it religiously and know that this cast is different from some of the usual ones you see. So check it out and comment and thumbs up or down below.

Robert Redford as Jay Garrick

A college student in January 1940 who accidentally inhaled heavy water vapors after falling asleep in his laboratory where he had been smoking. As a result, he found that he could run at superhuman speed and had similarly fast reflexes.

Redford is a great actor and when he was younger he often played roles where he came off as a reckless or immature character. I think he would be perfect for a Flash.

James Marsden as Barry Allen

A police scientist who has a reputation for being very slow, deliberate, and frequently late, which frustrated his fiancée, Iris West. One night, as he was preparing to leave work, a lightning bolt shattered a case full of chemicals and spilled them all over Allen. As a result, Allen found that he could run extremely fast and had matching reflexes.

Many might not agree with this cast but I believe Marsden could bring the right amount of seriousness and humor to the role. In the X-Men series he did well as portraying a leader and a hero and in other roles he has proven his comedic side.

Dave Franco as Wally West

The nephew of Iris West and Barry Allen by marriage. When West was about ten years old, he was visiting his uncle's police laboratory, and the freak accident that gave Allen his powers repeated itself, bathing West in electrically charged chemicals. West donned a copy of his uncle's outfit and became the young crime fighter Kid Flash. After Barry Allen was killed, Wally took over as the fastest man alive.

Franco hasn’t taken that many big roles in his career and this would be a good starting point for him. In his small run on Scrubs he did well portraying a rebellious teenager with a good sense of humor. If he brought this to the role of the Flash he would make for a great hero.

Josh Hutcherson as Bart Allen

The grandson of Barry Allen and his wife Iris. Bart suffered from accelerated aging and, as a result, was raised in a virtual reality machine until Iris took him back in time to get help from the then-current Flash, Wally West. With Wally's help, Bart's aging slowed, and he took the name Impulse.

Opinions on Hutcherson differ. Some believe he is a great young actor while others believe he is terrible. I for one, think he’s decent. He definitely needs some work but I think one day he could be good. And a small role like Bart Allen would be good for that. Chances are there will never be a Bart Allen movie, but Hutcherson would be good for a supporting character or a side-kick.

Love Interests

Autumn Reeser as Iris West

Iris was a reporter for the Picture News and the girlfriend of Barry Allen. Eventually, she learned that Barry was not only the city's heroic speedster, but her step-nephew, Wally West, was Kid Flash. She married Barry, discovering on their wedding night that Barry was the Flash (through Barry talking in his sleep).

Reeser is becoming a bigger star being on shows like No Ordinary Family and Entourage. On Entourage she showed that she can be a strong woman and a person that could show anger when necessary which would be a perfect against Barry. And on No Ordinary Family she showed she also has a playful side.

Jamie Cheung as Linda Park

Linda Park is a television reporter for Keystone City and regularly dealt with Flash, whom she didn't like. Despite this, Linda and Wally became friends on her first job for Keystone City’s KFMB Channel 4. After Wally helped Linda deal with her apparent possession began dating. Flash's love for Linda has brought him back many times from the Speed Force.

Cheung is a great up and comer and would be great for this role. She showed great power in her performances in Sucker Punch and Dragonball Evolution. And even though those movies sucked she did well in them. She is good looking and a good actress, perfect for this role.

Villains

Kiefer Sutherland as Captain Cold

Leonard Snart was a criminal who wanted a chance to get rid of the Flash. Snart made a gun and exposed it to radiation. The gun could freeze anything to absolute zero. Calling himself Captain Cold, Snart started out on a criminal career. He is considered to be the arch-nemesis of both Barry Allen and Wally West, and the leader of the Rogues.

Sutherland is without a doubt a bad ass. In 24 he was truly a hard ass. And though some may think that isn’t the right type of person for Captain Cold, I think it would bring some intensity to the role. Sutherland does great with intense roles and would be a great villain for a CBM.

Clive Owen as Mirror Master

While working in a prison workshop, Sam Scudder accidentally created a mirror that could hold an image for a period of time. When he escaped, he made more mirror gadgets, and became the Mirror Master. He has created many different mirrors that can do various things like travel into other dimensions. He was killed during the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Owen is great at playing bad guys. In Inside Man he was truly intimidating and made for an intense villain. As Mirror Master he would be physically threatening and could bring the smart-guy scientist look needed.

Jared Leto as The Pied Piper

Hartley Rathaway was born deaf, but was cured after his rich parents sought a way to make him hear. Once he could hear, he became obsessed with music and sound, and made many sound-based weapons. Originally a criminal, he reformed and came out as gay at the same time. He became a friend of Wally West. However, he has recently gone back to being a Rogue, although whether he wanted to or is working undercover is unknown.

Leto is without a doubt a great actor. He is good at bringing a damaged character to screen and he could bring a good amount of creepiness and intensity to the role of the Piper. If needed, he could also show a flamboyant side if they went that way with the role.

Joseph Fieness as Weather Wizard

Mark Mardon escaped from prison to his brother's house. His brother had just made a wand that could control the weather. Mark wanted the weapon and he and his brother got into a fight, and his brother was killed. Has an infant son, Josh, who was adopted by Iris West and has some of his father's powers, but only when his father is near him.

Fieness is a great actor and could bring the lunacy and seriousness that Weather Wizard would have to exhibit. He could bring a good amount of legitimacy to a character others might find foolish.

Steve Buscemi as The Trickster

James Jesse, a circus performer, invented shoes that used compressed air to "walk" on air. Inspired by Jesse James, James made other weapons and became the Trickster. He was once reformed, but it was revealed that it was because the Top made it so, and he went back with the Rogues. He was killed by Deadshot during the events of Countdown.

Buscemi is good at being crazier characters. He is an actor with a lot of notoriety and would be great for a role like this. And though might be a little old now, he could still be great for the character.

Gerard Butler as Captain Boomerang

Digger Harkness was a master of boomerangs. He was hired as a mascot for a boomerang company, but used the costume and boomerangs to commit crimes. During the Identity Crisis limited series, he was sent to murder Jack Drake (father of Tim Drake). But Drake retaliated in self-defense, and they killed each other. Harkness has a son who took up his title and became a hero after a stint with the Rogues.

Butler did well playing a villain in Law Abiding Citizen and could bring the same intensity to this role. He is also good with weapons as shown in 300. He would be a bad ass Captain Boomerang.

Sacha Baron Coen as Abra Kadabra

Abra Kadabra is from the 64th century, at a time when science has made stage magic obsolete. However, he wanted a career as a magician, so went back in time to find an audience to entertain and soon clashes with the Flash (Barry Allen). His "magic" is actually based on advanced technology, disguised with supernatural trappings. He recently joined Inertia's Rogues in killing Bart Allen.

Although some might think Coen is a lame and stupid actor, I think he actually does well in his roles. He did a good job transforming into Borat and Bruno and did well in other roles as well. He is currently making a Scorsese movie so that obviously means he must be a good actor. He could bring the same humor and craziness to this role as in his previous roles.

Matt Dillon as Heat Wave

Mick Rory is obsessed with fire and at a young age burned down his house, killing his family. He then made a heat gun and used fire to rob and kill. He was one of the Rogues that the Top made reform, and when that was undone, Rory became a Rogue again. Even during his reform, his mind was already starting to turn to crime.

Let’s be honest, Dillon isn’t all that great as an actor. But with a role like this where he would just have to be a villain that buns stuff down and [frick]s shit up, he would be perfect. I see Heat wave as more of a henchman than a full blown title villain.

Amy Smart as Golden Glider

Lisa Snart, the sister of Len Snart (Captain Cold), did not want to be a villain, but when her lover, the Top died, she swore revenge on the Flash. Using sharp ice skates that made ice, she battled the Flash and got the approval of her brother. She was killed by Chillblaine, a villain to whom she had given one of Captain Cold's weapons. Captain Cold has since gotten revenge by killing Chillblaine.

To begin I would change Lisa to the daughter of Captain Cold instead of his sister. Amy Smart did well as a damaged crazed girl in Butterfly Effect and I envision Golden Glider being the same way, and using these feeling to get revenge.

Cam Gigante as Captain Boomerang II

Owen Mercer is the son of the original Captain Boomerang, but did not know his father's identity until Mercer was an adult. The two practiced together, and were surprised when Mercer found he had bursts of super speed. When his father died he was invited to join the Rogues, but later left for stints with the Outsiders and the Suicide Squad.

Gigante does well at playing villains but could also do well as a reformed villain turned hero. He might not look like he could be Butler’s son, but he would still do well in the role.

Jude Law as The Shade

A villain who makes use of a special cane that enables him to cast complete darkness at will.

Law is good at playing dark characters and would be perfect for this. He could act as a proper gentleman who also has a creepy side and lurks in the darkness while committing crimes.

Keith David as the voice of Gorilla Grodd

Grodd was an inhabitant of Gorilla City, a peaceful society of super-intelligent Gorillas of which Grodd was the only evil one. A mastermind in his early years with vast mental powers, he has become more savage and stronger recently, to the point where he wants to "feast on the bones" of the Flash.

David has a very strong voice that would be perfect for Grodd. I also see the role as being done with motion capture and CGI to make it seem more real. Like how they did with Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I believe it would be very cool to see Grodd on the big screen.

Jake Gyllenhaal as Professor Zoom

Eobard Thawne is a speedster from the future. Once just a simple villain, he became more known when he killed Barry Allen's wife Iris Allen. Later, when Barry was about to remarry, Zoom tried to kill his bride, but, in a fit of rage, Barry killed Zoom by breaking his neck, thus putting the Flash on trial for murder where he was found guilty.

Gyllenhaal is without a doubt a great actor. And he has done many different roles over the years that prove he is great for this role. He could use the same creepy and scary attitude that he used in Donnie Darko to make a truly impending villain on all levels.

Scott Speedman as Zoom

Hunter Zolomon was an FBI agent that was severely injured in a prison break attempt by Gorilla Grodd and was left paralyzed from the waist down. He asked Wally West to use the time-traveling cosmic treadmill to prevent this from occurring, but West refused. Zolomon, feeling that Wally should be prepared to disregard such fears for the sake of their friendship, then broke into the museum and attempted to use the treadmill himself. The resulting explosion destroyed the museum and shifted Hunter's connection to time - described by Jay Garrick as him being 'derailed' from the timeline by the explosion - thus allowing Zolomon to alter the speed at which he could move in time, giving him the effect of superspeed.

Many people see Speedman as the perfect person to play Barry Allen. But I think he would do much better as the obsessed FBI agent turned villain. He has the look of a cop and could portray the psychotic side when needed.

So this is my Flash cast. It is the first one I have done in a long time so I’m sorry if it’s not the best. Comment below whether you like it or not. I hope you enjoyed it.

@NeilBeforeYoung-I could see Morrison as Allen. I see Morrison as a better Ant-man though.

@Arrow-Thanks man. Wally West was one of the hardest people for me to cast. I wanted someone young but not too young. Franco seemed perfect.

@manymade1-Thanks!

Gbpackman-Thanks man. I could really see Marsden pulling it off.

This is a pretty solid cast but the only choices I don't like are your picks for Professor Zoom and Zoom I just can't see them as evil.
