Is Batman tough enough to tangle with some of Marvel's villains?

In response to the voting, Batman is now going up against some of Marvel's rogues gallery. Can he survive? Thank you for all the voting and support with these polls.

Batman is one of the toughest non-powered heroes within the DC Universe as well as one of the smartest. There is no debate he is the greatest detective but there is some debate as to whether or not he has the ability to defeat the likes of Superman and other high powered heroes. Batman may not be able to defeat them, but he does have a contingency plan in case any heroes decide to go rogue. A prime example of this is within the pages of JLA: Tower of Babel. Within this story arc, we find Batman's has been keeping records concerning the strengths and weaknesses of his allies in the JLA, including plans to neutralise his allies in a fight. Another case of Batman's intelligence is he keeps a kryptonite ring in his utility belt in case he has to face Kryptonians or even the man of steel himself.

But can he defeat them with these contingencies in place? And what if Batman somehow makes it into the Marvel Universe? More than likely, Batman would get a feel for his surroundings and learn to adapt as he always does. The following fights will be left to the fans as to who is the better fighter. Assume Batman has been in the Marvel Universe for a month and has been in hiding, while gathering data on his coming opponents. If he were to face some of these characters, would he actually win, or would he fall? It's time for you to decide...is Batman tough enough?

BIO:
Batman
"Sometimes, I admit, I think of Bruce as a man in a costume. Then, with some gadget from his utility belt, he reminds me that he has an extraordinarily inventive mind. And how lucky I am to be able to call on him." --Superman

Sebastian Shaw vs. Batman:
Sebastian Shaw
33 Votes (58.93%)
Batman
23 Votes (41.07%)
After a long day of punching a brick wall, Shaw is more than ready to face the dark knight. Batman tries to delay their meeting until night time, with the hopes Shaw's strength goes down a little, as well as use the cover of darkness to his advantage. Unfortunately, it doesn't work because as soon as Batman attacks from the shadows by launching batarangs, Shaw catches and crushes them in his hand. Batman uses this means of misdirection to attack him from another angle by landing precise strikes to some key pressure points but Shaw is just still too strong for them to affect him. Sebastian grabs Batman by the throat and pummels his face and gut, then throws him a vast distance like last nights garbage.

Shocker vs. Batman:
Shocker
6 Votes (13.04%)
Batman
40 Votes (86.96%)
Shocker comes into the battle with full use of his gauntlets, but it only lasts a few seconds because Batman disables them almost immediately. From that point, Herman is just a man in a suit and is taken down almost instantaneously.

Tombstone vs. Batman:
Tombstone
14 Votes (32.56%)
Batman
29 Votes (67.44%)
Tombstone tries to use his durability to his advantage but it only lasts so long. Batman tries to lay Lonnie out with punch and kick combos but they're having no affect so he switches to batarangs...the exploding kind. After a few well precised hits with them, Tombstone is down for the count.

Typhoid Mary vs. Batman:
Typhoid Mary
16 Votes (45.71%)
Batman
19 Votes (54.29%)
Typhoid Mary almost immediately starts using her telekinesis to hurl objects at the dark knight but he manages to dodge them while throwing a few explosive batarangs. Mary is blown back but absorbs the blasts but while she's doing that, Batman moves in for hand-to-hand. Mary pulls out a couple of knives and manages to stab Batman in the leg, which disables him a bit. She tries to stab him again, but he counters by gaining control of the hand and breaking her arm. After that, he breaks one of her legs, headbutts her (breaking her nose) and knocks her out.

Viper vs. Batman:
Viper
7 Votes (18.92%)
Batman
30 Votes (81.08%)
Viper comes into battle with a large ego because she's Madame Hydra but it doesn't stop the dark knight who lands a few devastating blows and takes the win. Batman says, "If you're in charge, Hydra can't be that bad. Where's the next two?"

Vulture vs. Batman:
Vulture
6 Votes (15.38%)
Batman
33 Votes (84.62%)
Vulture tries a high flying tactic and when he tries to swoop down, loses sight of Batman. All of a sudden, the dark knight appears above him (thanks to his grappling gun), lands on his back and destroys his harness. From there, both men fall to the street below, with Batman rolling out at the last second (after pushing off Vulture). Adrian goes down for the count.

Well, that's it for Batman vs. Marvel. I hope you all have enjoyed it and I hope you are enjoying Deadpool vs. DC. As soon as that's over, I will be doing Goku vs. Marvel/DC and then Ichigo vs. Marvel/DC. I hope you are also catching Thor's quest for the Infinity Gems.

Shaw would be hard. Everyone else, beatable by Batman.

Shaw and possibly Vulture would be trouble, but the others would get the work by Bats. Personally, I never got the "Batman couldn't beat anybody with powers" argument. I mean, honestly, what has somebody like Captain America got that Bruce doesn't? Granted, I don't read much Marvel, so correct me if I'm wrong, but it is my understanding that a Super Soldier has peak HUMAN strength. Ergo, he doesn't have "super" strength, just stronger and faster than an Olympic athelete for instance, but not able to lift a car. I guess I'm just saying Batman should be able to beat anybody that Cap could. Especially when you factor in the gadgets and the fact that Bruce trained for like 5 years at least with the greatest masters on Earth before returning to Gotham and getting another 10-15, while Cap got like 3 years in WWII and another 10 in the present. Again, correct me if I am mistaken but I believe that Batman is at the least on par with Captain America so any victory by Cap should be attainable by Bats.

@OmegaBlack13, I believe you are correct. The problem here is that Marvel Comics will have that one issue or standalone series that gives their characters RIDICULOUS powers, and everyone here references that one series. Much like Silver Surfer being annoyingly overpowered.

@ PieEyedPiper - I have to agree with you there. People look at one-shots sometimes and don't realize that's not the character. A good example of that is when Deadpool was just recently a herald of Galactus and now some people reference that and think he's cosmic. It gets out of hand, but its still interesting to see people's takes on the characters.
