Those Already Casted (minus some):
Peter Parker/ Spider-Man - Andrew Garfield
Andrew Garfield is my favorite actor. And to know that he's taking on the role of Spidey, well, I'm relieved and extremely excited.
(Josh Hutcherson? Seriously?)
Gwen Stacy - Emma Stone
Perfect. Emma Stone is awesome. And she'll make a great Gwen.
Aunt May - Sally Field
I wasn't too happy at first, but I think I'm getting used to the idea of Sally Field being Aunt May.
Uncle Ben - Martin Sheen
Perfect. Couldn't think of anyone better.
Dr. Curt Conners/ the Lizard - Rhys Ifans
Not too shabby. I'm interested in seeing Mr. Ifan's take on the character.
Captain Stacy - Denis leary
One word: Awesome.
My Fan Cast:
J. Jonah Jameson - Hugh Laurie
Please, God. Make this happen.
Norman Osborn/the Green Goblin - Jason Isaacs
You should see this guy act. Friggin' brilliant. And he's creepy. Norman is not supposed to be Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Norman Osborn is evil ALL of the time.
SIDE NOTE: I'm not sure what Green Goblin I would want to be in this Reboot. I really love both versions of the villain. Maybe the backstory or origin of the "Ultimate" version, but instead of him changing into a hulk-sized Goblin, he could transform into a muscular normal-sized Goblin. If that makes any sense. I really love the relationship between the Green Goblin and Spider-Man's origins in the Ultimate comics though. How Norman thinks of Peter as his creation. It's perfect.
Harry Osborn - Anton Yelchin/Robert Pattinson
If they want to go for more of an "Amazing" version of Harry I would choose Anton.
For more of an "Ultimate" version, I would definitely go with pattinson. Now, I know you Twilight-Haters are going to be pissed, but the dude CAN act. And he's friends with Andrew in real life. Robert Pattinson would be the perfect "I'm a bad-ass" Harry that we see in the Utimate Comics.
Otto Octavius/Doc Ock - Philip Seymour Hoffman/Michael Fassbender
If they want to go for more of an "Amazing" version of Doc Ock, I would choose Hoffman.
For moe of an "Ultimate" version, I would choose Fassbender. I can't really tell you why I chose Fassbender. It was kind of a gut-feeling. And the Ultimate Doc Ock is taller, leaner, and more muscular than the Amazing one. I really think he could pull it off.
SIDE NOTE: I would definitely go with the Ultimate versions of these two characters over their "Amazing" counterparts. Just Saying.
Felicia Hardy/Black Cat - Ashley Greene
Do I need to say anything? No? Alright, cool.
UPDATE:
When thinking about Eddie Brock, I had originally planned on -like Harry and Doc Ock- casting two seperate actors: one "Amazing" version and an "Utimate" one. I realized, though, that I had only picked the two actors I had in mind in hopes of appeasing my fellow Spidey-Fans. And I also realised that my love for Spider-Man's greatest villain has everything to do with Venom and nothing to do with Eddie Brock. I truly don't like either versions of the man. So, in conclusion, I have finally casted the one guy I know could take Venom (the villain and lethal-protector alike) and make it into a character I could full heartedly love.
Eddie Brock/Venom: Sam Witwer
I've seen Sam in almost everything he's ever done (including his kick-ass band the Crashtones) and I have to say that the dude is awesome. He can play an amazing villain, but more importantly, he plays the perfect anti-hero (Doomesday in Smallville, Starkiller in the Force Unleashed, Aidan in Being Human), which is exactly what Venom ends up becoming. So, after watching countless interviews, I have come to the conlusion that this guy is Eddie Brock. And that I can't picture anyone else in the role.
(This is the interview that finally led me to that decision)
SIDE NOTE: I really would like to see the "Ultimate" take on the symbiote's origins in this new reboot. The connection it has with Peter and his past is so beautifully written. The "Amazing" origin really just isn't that gripping of a story to me.
I'm still deciding on the other major characters (Mary Jane, etc.)
And I'll update with any actual casting or conclusions that I have come upon on other characters.
P.S. Mary Jane is still really frickin' hard to cast.
So, what do you guys think???
