I remember the day I walked into the theater to see this film. I was excited and had high hopes for it. I am a lover of superheroes and even though. I would prefer Marvel over DC. I am not saying Marvel is better it's just my preference. The movie I saw was well a big mess of what the heck. I mean seriously the two greatest superheroes of all time in a movie. This couldve made a boat load of money. it couldve easily been on the level of the avengers but it fell flat.
Anyone remember a little hour long movie called the World's Finest. it was on kids WB back in 1998. I believe but don't quote me on that. Well, that movie shouldve been translated into live action. It wouldve been seemless and how would they do it? Well let's talk about it here.
First who do we keep and who gets recasted in this movie.
As much as everyone likes Henry Cavill as Superman. I actually like him in the role. However I just want to see him be the Tim Daly version. The hero who sees things black and white. There is no gray area with this man. He's the protector of Metropolis and the symbol for all to look to. I can not stand, how he was portrayed. I'd say this movie should take place a couple years after man of steel. He has redeemed himself in the public eye. They love him and he knows how to use his powers. This isn't smallville after all. I saw that for ten seasons on tv and I don't need to see it here. I don't think Henry Cavill's performance is as good as people say. I think there is someone better for the role of Superman. In fact he was beat by Cavill for the role. I completely and totally forgot about this guy. MY superman would be none other than this guy.
White Collar star Matt Bomer and yes I can see it. This guy looks like Superman and man he would rock it. I want to see the classic approach as well. You can't humanize superman and as much as you think you can. I don't think so because he is suppose to better than all of us. He makes the choices we can't. Also all the while holding back and keeping safe.
Batman...as much as I like ben Affleck in the role. I think that there needs to be a difference between batman and bruce wayne. You see that in the Justice League trailer. So why not in this movie. If I was going to cast Batman in this movie. If I was going to think about who in the world could play him. I'm talking about a live action version of the Kevin Conroy Batman. I'd chose,
Karl Urban and yes he would rock this role like no one else. I can picture him in the batman outfit in the shadows. It would be amazing to see. I've seen him kick some serious butt as bones in Star Trek. I can tell that this guy has the chops to play both Bruce Wayne and Batman. He was really good in Dredd and Red (that rhymed and I didn't mean to do that) he would make me believe that he is Batman. Like Christian Bale did in the Nolanverse.
Now Lex Luthor is a smart, wealthy intelligent business man. He knows how to play it cool in the public eye. He hates superman though and there are many different versions of him that have been portrayed. However for years I have said this casting for Lex Luthor. He is very underrated and I am sure given the chance he would jump at it.
When I picture Lex Luthor. I picture Billy Zane and he does know how to play a rich jerk. He was awesome in Titanic and to me. He was the best part of the entire movie. He was fantastic in demon knight and I can see him as Lex. He was born to play the role. Why didn't he in Batman vs Superman. Well I would have my Lex exactly as he is in the animated film. An intelligent business man that wants nothing more than power.
Now onto the other villain of this film. Probably one of the best known. However he can be portrayed many different way and I think of Mark Hamills as my favorite. It is a combination of all of them. I think that there is a couple actors that can pull that off. Joker thinks he's an evil genius and if you don't agree with that oh well. So who should play Joker in this film..
James Franco should be given the chance to play him. I think that he has all the tools to do it. He can be funny, serious and I am sure he can go pyscho if allowed to do so. We need a JOker who will actually do things and plot his plan. In the movie Joker's plan is to kill superman with a kryptonite dragon. He meets with Luthor and he goes from joking to serious in a blink of an eye. Imagine if Franco played his joker as a cross between his character from pineapple express and his character form rise of the planet of the apes. I think that would be awesome.
Now onto his henchgirl and one of the most popular characters since she debuted in 1992. She was created to be a one off character and now she is a cutural icon at DC. Now I have no problem with Margot Robbie's portrayal of the character. In fact she made Harley Quinn three deminisonal and real. I felt there was so much more to be desired from the character. I have been racking my brain as too who shjould play her. Someone who can go dark and be funny. I had to do some research and I remembered a certain actress who isn't really in much these days. However I remember this little movie called Butterfly effect and well she played all sorts of characters in that, I didn't know she could go so dark. I think she could pull it off and again. This simply my preference and who would play Harley in my movie.......
Amy Smart she would be interesting to say the least and I think you cast her and let her run with it. She was also the psycho girlfriend in Rat Race and also she was pretty good in Crank. After all she would be surrounded by some awesome talent. It wouldn't be hard for her to pull off the part at all. I'd say let Amy Smart have a go at it and see what she can do.
Would I introduce wonder woman? Umm actually I wouldn't at all. I would have a post credits scene with Martian Manhunter stating a great threat is coming and their going to need help. He then shows them video clips of Wonder Woman, Flash, Aqua Man and Green Lantern. This would lead into Justice League and the thing about starting a shared universe is baby steps. The focus should soulyu focus on Batman and Superman in this film.
Now onto the supporting characters
Now as Far as Lois Lane goes. I don't like Amy Adams as her that much. She is missing something in her portrayal as the character. I am okay with her in the DCEU but my casting for Lois Lane would be a bit different. She to be someone who is strong and can carry her own with this great cast. I thought on it for a while and I remember watch How I met your mother. She was one of Ted's love interests. My Lois Lane would be none other than.....
Jennifer Morrison, Emma Swan herself and well she can play funny and strong all at the same time. What more can be said and I think she could be that LoIs Lane that I always wanted to see on screen. I Know that she can also hold her own on screen with Urban and Bomer.
Commissioner Gordon would be played by....
Bryan Cranston and my goodness does he fit the role. I heard how should play Lex Luthor and that would be cool. However to me Bryan Cranston fits Gordan a bit more. I mean he has played a father. I think a cop wouldnt be that much of a stretch and plus this fit the world's finest casting that I am going for.
Now onto the man who hates to be called cheif and I think there are a lot people that can play Perry White. I want to see this character be what he is suppose to be. He is the boss man that commands the screen and I thought about a particular actor to put on the suit and run the daily planet. I pick this guy
Bobby Cannavale as Perry White sounds pretty outstanding if you ask me. I have seen him play some pretty good supporting roles on screen. I was thinking the other day about who is that guy from the new annie. You know the guy that works for Jamie Fox. I found this guys name and I was like, yeah.
Now onto Jimmy Olson, the photographer for the daily planet. He has been portrayed by many actors and I chose this guy.
Jamie Bell for Jimmy Olsen anyone? I mean I think this guy needs comic book movie redemption. I mean after all he was in the awful fantastic four movie. I don't think he was the problem. I could see him holding the camera and taking many photos for Miss Lane.
Next in the supporting cast is....
Detective Harvey Bullock the guy that can't stand Batman. He's a tough as nails cop. He always does things by the book for the most part. To play this detective I chose.
Micheal Madsen this guy just fits the part like a glove. From resiovour dogs to kill bill. He is Bullock from the animated film and I think he would fit great with a well rounded cast of actors.
Next up Batman's loyal butler, trainer and father figure.
Alfred is portrayed in different ways. In Batman the animated series. You got to know so much about the character. If I'm not mistaken he was a spy for british intelligence. He knows how to put Bruce in check sometimes and he can be portrayed by pretty much anyone depending on Batman's age. There is one actor that I would love to play Alfred in this film. I chose.
Patrick Stewart and yes I know he was professor xavier and that is what we all see him as. I do want everyone to think about for one second. He would command this role to the tee. He would hold his own and make you believe he is the character. In the world finest movie Alfred wasn't too hands on but I am sure that can be added. I would love to see Patrick Stewart as Alfred.
Now another character to be in this..Mercy Graves...
She is Lex Luthor body guard and limo driver. She also takes care of all his financial stuff and what not. She does indeed kick major butt in superman the animated series and now who should play her. I thought about it a beautiful talented woman who can kick some serious butt. Well does anyone remember this little show called heroes? Well on that show there was a woman on there that would play Mercy Graves awesomely....
Ali Larter would perfect for the role in my opinion. She can play strong and kick butt. Plus to see her and Amy Smart fight each other in the background while Franco's joker and Zane's Luthor would be so awesome.
What do you think guys? I'm sorry for the delayed edits but it was worth it.
