What does the future hold for Iron Man 3?

What does the future hold for Iron Man 3?

A long way away, the final chapter in the trilogy (As promised by Robert Downey J.r), and what we might see.

Its a little too soon you may say. Yes...Yes it is. But inevitably, the Iron Man franchise, will soon draw to a close. With all this hype we gain from rumors, trailers, interviews, whatever! We just seem to get very hyped up over anything these days. But theres no harm in connecting the dots, and working out how such a beautiful and well directed bunch of films will come to close with that final chapter...Iron Man 3!

Thinking of the consequences, we'll be seeing a very experienced, perhaps aging Stark (As now we would've seen his participation in the Avengers). How would a brand new storyline, and problem apply to this Ironed soldier, now that he's faced things from other dimensions and worlds along with Earths mightiest heroes?

Lets pin point two directions Jon could go with this:

1. The Mandarin

Quite obviously one of Starks deadliest foes from the CB world, and now with the introduction of Mythology/ Sorcery from Thor's appearances, we could easily pull off the character. This would allow Favreau to break the boundaries, and not to mention, having Mandarin clash with Stark (In quite possibly his final mission) will end the trilogy with a big bang!

2. Iron Man directing Shield

Another final chapter idea that could open the doors to all sorts of stories, villains, and of course, still connecting to The Avengers. Stark being appointed some form of leadership or role in SHIELD, could allow a hint at the Civil War plot (Which will never happen, but fanboys would love to the small tweaks)

Anyways, feel free to fire away with what you'd like to see. Talk Minions!

as much as this could be RDJ's final mission, i would hope that Marvel would keep the spirit and franchise alive by maybe doing a James Bond.
i don't mean switching actors every five years, but when someone gets too old or isn't willing to be Stark anymore, Marvel should movie on to another actor. and i do not mean rebooting the series. that is disrespectful to the cat, crew, and fans of the films.
whaddaya think?

Interesting ideas. However, isn't Stark put into his SHIELD leadership position after Civil War?

I think that the 3rd and (i wish not) final Iron Man movie should have Fin Fang Foom in it. And not the stupid looking green one, i mean the one from the 'Iron Man: Viva Las Vegas' 4 part comic book series. I think that's be really awesome! But of course there should also be another of Iron Man's enemies (like say, "Firepower" maybe) to hold out most of the movie, fighting Iron Man, and then bring Fin Fang Foom in for the final fight scene. That's my idea anyway...
