Alright, this is my second fan cast. I delved a bit deeper and added a story that's been circling inside my head for awhile. Hope you all enjoy!
Synopsis
The X-Men are no more. Their mansion has been destroyed. Professor Xavier’s first five students are now on their own, trying to find their places in the world. Scott, Jean, Hank and Bobby have chosen to stay together, in hopes to rebuild the dreams of their missing mentor. Warren returns home, in an attempt to lead a normal life.
While witnessing several mutants being beaten to death during a riot, Warren intercedes. He becomes overrun by the rioters who decide to punish him by brutally amputating his wings in the street. Barely surviving the encounter, he is kept for months at a hospital while the doctors try to heal his physical and psychological wounds. One night he awakens in what appears to be an enormous spacecraft. He was kidnapped and brought there by a tall, ancient being, who makes an offer to return his wings to him. . but for a hefty price.
Cast
Jensen Ackles as Scott Summers / Cyclops
This role needs to go to an All-American looking guy. Someone eager to follow orders, but still slightly hesitant to give them.
Rachael McAdams as Jean Grey / Marvel Girl
You can't just pick a bombshell for this role, she needs serious acting chops. She will have to portray a character whose powers are mostly invisible. Rachael is solid on screen.
Eric Bana as Henry "Hank" McCoy / Beast
Since this actor will be covered up by blue body paint and fake fur, it's all in the eyes and the voice. Eric's a heavy hitter in both areas. Anyone doubt he can can pull it off? Watch Munich and Troy.
Josh Holloway as Warren Worthington III / Angel / Archangel
I don't really feel the need to explain this one.
Scott Caan as Bobby Drake / Iceman
Ok, before you guys all gang up and lynch me for this choice, allow me to explain. . When this first popped into my head, it was just an errant thought. The more I rolled it around my head, the more sense it made. Bobby Drake is a showoff, right? Bobby Drake is arrogant, right? Bobby Drake is a scraper, right? Bobby Drake gets on everyone's nerves, right? Bobby Drake has problems with authority, right?
Sounds like almost every role Scotty Caan has played to me.
Opening Scene
Several years into the future. . .
After attending a Senate Committee Hearing regarding the Mutant Registration Act, the X-Men arrive at their mansion to find it completely destroyed. Barely a wall remains intact, even the grass throughout the grounds is scorched black. During their fervent search for survivors they uncover a message projector that is psychically locked, allowing only Jean Grey to access it. The message is a holographic projection of Professor Xavier:
“ I’m sorry that I could not explain these circumstances to you personally. I hope one day you may find a way to forgive me.
I sent you all away to Washington so you would not be here to fight when they came to kill me. Do not worry, I am safe now. A friend has given me sanctuary for as long as I require it. Please understand that I cannot tell you where I am and I beg of you not to search for me. Our students are also unharmed. They all left several days before the Sentinels arrived.
I wish I could tell you who they are or who sent them, but I was not able to reach their minds even through the use of Cerebro. They are large, extremely powerful and have left a pathway of distressed mutants beginning somewhere in the Nevada desert and ending here.
Now it is time for you. . my X-Men, my dearest friends. . to leave. You are not safe here anymore. Salvage what you must, but do not stay. It won’t be long before our uninvited guests return. Take with you the lessons we’ve taught each other. Remember, every day, you choose to make a difference in this world. Scott, I will never forget your unwavering loyalty. . Henry, I will miss your compassion. . . Jean, your strength and fortitude never ceased to amaze me. . Warren, your true gifts are your patience and courage. . .Bobby
[AVAILABLE MEMORY EXCEEDED. END OF MESSAGE.] ”
The silence is broken by Bobby, “Seriously? Oh c’mon!”
Jean, while crying, screams back “Bobby cut it out!”
Bobby: “Sure, you’re all tears, he said his sweet goodbye to you. Maybe if mentioning me wasn’t the very last thing on his to-do list, he would have had some room to tell me something!”
Jean jumps towards Bobby, tears running down her face. Scott grabs her immediately. .
A faint buzzing in the background suddenly becomes cacophony of jet turbines. Wind and debris are tossed around. Warren’s wings cause him to be thrown into the remains of a brick wall, knocking him unconscious.
The remaining X-Men, completely disoriented by the vortex of wind and noise, scream to each other to find cover.
Finally, the turbine noises end with several thunderous crashes. Scott, Jean, Hank and Bobby are trying to regain their bearing when they hear a booming, metallic voice:
"TARGETS ACQUIRED. . INITIALIZE CAPTURE ”
