X-men: 2nd Generation

X-men: 2nd Generation

a look at who I believe would be good for the roles of certain X-characters.

Okay, I've heard different rumors. One, says that X-men: First class is going to be set fifteen years in the past. Using the characters, stated to be the original students in the movies. The other, says it's going to be present day, with the current students from the movie. The latter is the more ignorant choice. I feel they should do it with the originals.(Even though a few aren't even the originals from the comics.) I feel that if they were going to use the current students. They should have it be a new trilogy, but as a continuance to the first three X movies. I would call it. X-men: Second Generation. Here we go.

Once again, i chose this actor, not only for the fact that he is pretty as hell, much like angel. But, because I've seen his movies and think he is quite a good actor.

Toby Hemingway as Angel.

as

I thought he did an excellent job so I kept him.

Daniel Cudmore to reprise his role as Colossus.

as

Tell me she wouldn't look sexy as hell in that suit.
Shannon Elizabeth as Kitty Pride/ShadowCat.

as

For a much more different theme, I replaced the guy playing Iceman, he came off kinda whiney to me, so...

Jeremy Sumpter as Iceman.

as

As much as I like Anna Paquin, as an actress. She lacked a few things as Rogue. One, the necessary attitude to play the drop dead gorgeous southern belle. Two, the right amount of curves to make you say "OW, that was hot." every time you see her. Therefore, I give you TheMyths choice. Quite stellar I might add...

Vanessa Ferlito as Rogue.

Jeremy Sumpter... great pic! i saw that movie "The Sasquatch Gang" and loved it! he's so good! he reminds me of a more... amature Michael Cera. I like the Danni Harris thing! she is a good choice. I think you could work nightcrawler in. Heck, if Fox is gonna make this, they'll probably say that since he can bend time and space, he ages faster lol
... which, in a sad way, kinda makes sense lol good work.
o as much as i think she is Boss (yes i used that term) Shannon Liz is just a little too old. The Juno chick did a good job. she could come back but she may be too "professional" for xmen again.
I know you already have a Zombie Halloween chick in there but maybe Scout Taylor-Compton as SC? maybe idk
Daniel Cudmore was born for that role. He needs to up the accent... and lines lol more but i think he's great. to be that age and in that shape and that tall, he's great for it.
I've never heard of the guy for Angel though. Ben Foster was ok. Why didn't you wanna see him come back?

I like Ben Foster. He's one of my top notch favorite actors of all time. But him being Angel never sat right with me. He wasn't pretty enough for starts. Lol. Then, he also seemed to bring a lack of self confidence to the role that I think Angel needs. He looked scared all the time. I actually thought about Scout as Shadowcat but I already have her down as Jean Grey in another thread and honestly like her much better for that part. Honestly, I don't care who plays Shadowcat. I just know Shannon Elizabeth would blow minds and break spines in that sexy ass costume. and thank you for the compliment on Jeremy Sumpter. I expected a lot more negative criticism. But, I'm glad to see atleast one person agrees. Harris, I adore. If it were possible, i'd gladly have her babies so she could keep that perfect body. The reason I didn't choose Juno chick, is for the reason you just stated, she's getting quite popular. Plus, I don't like her. I actually hate her. lol. Maybe Alison Lohman or maybe even Cassie Steele.

...and toby hemingway, is in The convenant, with taylor kitsch i might add. It's not the best movie. but its decent. He's also in the Rob Zombie remake of Halloween, as Danielle Harris' boyfriend. Wierd how that links together.

so, its based on film continuity....but its set fifteen years in the past...makes sense. and how do you know all of this?

Joslezio85 - 3/22/2009, 9:09 PM
not to mention the fact. that i'm not really basing it off of what stupid ass fox is doing. in my opinion they are, and always will be, wrong. i'm basing this off of what i, and in this particular case, the myth would like to see happen. not to mention the fact that i've spent hours researching this damn movie, and from what i can tell. Schwartz, ya know, the writer is going to base it off of the younger characters from the previous movies. which if i do recall, were angel, rogue, kitty pride, colossus, and iceman. maybe jubilee, if someone really wants to destroy the film. i take that back, most definately jubilee, cuz thats just how much fox sucks.

LMAO! Thank you! I like that you kept the same guy for Colossus. I liked Ellen Page as Shadowcat as well as Sean Ashmore for Iceman. Vanessa Ferlito (Most memorable role was Butterfly in Tarantino's "Death Proof")would be the perfect Rogue. That Toby Hemingway just may be the pretty boy douche we need for Angel though. In regards to Gambit, the Wolverine movie takes place about 15 years before X1 in the movie continuity, meaning Taylor would be too young to reprise the role. Therefore I nominate Vincent Cassell. Thanks again for making a more plausible casting call.

well, i really think sumpter could do better than ashmore, like i said whiney. and i really think ellen page would more than turn it down at this point. plus, i hate her. Vanessa Ferlito, is an amazing choice. I think i actually heard someone mention her on another thread. I don't know anything about Vincent Cassell. But, I do know. He's quite odd looking. lol. Might i suggest Martin Henderson? and if you don't like danielle harris as Rogue, obviously since you said vanessa ferlito, how bout as jubilee?

Cassell is a French Actor who has been in a few American movie's(Ocean's 12 and 13, Derailed, Eastern Promises). He already has the accent, height, and build for the character. He is also proficient in Capoeira and Savate, very agile forms of martial arts. Despite his looks, lol, he is married to Monica Bellucci, so he must have some level of charm. All-in-all, I feel he is tailor made for the role, especially in another X-flic whose story took place after X3.

As for Sumpter, if he were just a year older, I'd say he would make a great Havok for an origin story. in fact, Havok could be the 5th original X-Man for the movie continuity.

good call on the havok being in the origin story. i never thought of that. well i guess i sort of did. but not for this. Nevermind. Anyways, I think Jackson Rathbone, with a good hair cut, would make a good Havok. Most will disagree, but i just see it...

@071808: I say 15 years since the events in X1 because in X1, Xavier says to Logan, "It's been almost fifteen years, hasn't it, moving from place to place..." I am a very observant person, lol. Also I read somewhere, can't remember where, that it actually does take place 15-17 years before the current trilogy. I don't know for sure that they will maintain the continuity they have created. I also don't know if I will wake up tomorrow, you catch my point. Us, as fans, can say what we want about how these movies were created and their defects, but monetarily, the X-trilogy was a monumental success and it would be foolhardy to not try to cash in on the franchise somemore. As long as they don't pull a "Batman & Robin" on us, they've no reason to reboot, that would actually be damaging. All logical deductive reasoning says they will maintain the continuity they've created until it no longer makes money.

Recently, MTV news site released an interview with Zach in which he states he has already finished the scripts and now the studios are just going over them and deciding which route to go. The Magneto origin movie is also said to be in the scripting part of development. Essentially, the fate of both movies hinges on Wolverine's success. Lauren Schueller-Donner(I think thats how it's spelled) even stated a few months back that the future of both movies is dependent upon Wolverine's box-office earnings.

Personally, I feel it will be a prequel, I'm about 60% sure of that, as I agree First Class suggests THE First Class. The appearance of Cyclops in the Wolverine movie as well as Emma Frost reinforces this theory. I think they may try to pass off Emma as an original X-Man. In the initial "Deadpool is Weapon XI" debacle the first article I read said there was a teaser at the end of Gambit leading some of the escaped mutants through the wilderness, Cyclops specifically mentioned among them, are contacted by Xavier telepathically and reassured of their safety. Since it has all but been fully revealed that Deadpool does in fact become Weapon XI I am forced to reconsider all the spoilers and gossip I heard during that time. If that scene is in fact present in the movie, that could mean they are gonna try to pass Gambit off as an original X-Man.

I am an X-fanatic so I could sit and tie events and appearances together all day long. You can imagine with all the buzz, how many times I've watched the trilogy over again to pull minor details. It's also made me dive into back issues I haven't touched in years as well as buying compilations to brush up on my history.

TRUST ME! For him to not be there would actually leave a large hole in the plot that would be impossible to fill with anything on par.

Well Jos, aside from the flagrant lack of Keira Knightly (personal favorite, but that's just me :), very nice cast!!!

@071808. i cast the original team on a previous thread, because thats what i wanted to see. if you go to my site you will see it on there, angel and iceman would be the only ones that wouldn't fit. I cast this, because TheMyth asked me too. I think this would make a really good movie honestly. It could be the sequel to first class. lol. X-men: 2nd Gen.

OK. A piece of my mind for everyone. I think they should start making X movies. Craploads of them. And instead of all of this stupid crap they keep doing. Just take the great stories we already have and straight transfer them to the big screen. Messiah Complex. Age of Apocalypse. for example. They should just make the stories...it would be so much better.
