Josh Trank is doing press for Chronicle in London and
Den Of Geek caught up with him to ask him a few questions about the film. With the rumor that he is the front runner to helm Fox's reboot of the Fantastic Four out there it comes as no surprised that he was asked about it. His answer though just stuck to the subject matter and ended with him saying there are thing he is thinking about working on but nothing is a deal until it is signed.
Said Trank:
“To be honest, it’s a little weird because I knew the movie could work, and I knew it could possibly be special," Trank said. "But it was a surprise to me how much people have liked it [Chronicle]. I’m working on some original ideas. There are some things I’m thinking about and working on, but nothing’s a deal until it’s signed."
Tank was also asked if we could be seeing a Chronicle 2 in the near future as well, but only saying they had ideas they could expand on. Said Trank,
“We have ideas that could be expanded on. We could keep going.” Another topic of conversation was the troubled Akira movie the question was brought up if he thought the movie could work with US audiences and if the idea seemed redundant because of similar films he said,
"“It could work, or it could be the worst thing in the world. It’s all on the filmmaker."
So it looks like the Fantastic Four is not a done deal yet, but he is considering it it. It also seems like it could depend on the success of
Chronicle when it open on February 3, 2012.
