Josh Trank Sets The Record Straight On Those Plot Rumors About THE FANTASTIC FOUR

Chronicle director Josh Trank has confirmed that his Twitter account is indeed the real deal, and goes on the record to fully debunk the plot rumours which resurfaced today, saying that the only thing they got right was the name of the characters! Hit the jump for details.

Badass Digest managed to catch up with Josh Trank today to clear up those rumours about The Fantastic Four. The pretty dodgy sounding logline reappeared online today after some sites reported that they were contacted by 20th Century Fox and asked to remove it on the grounds of copyright infringement. That certainly made it appear legit! However, according to the site, "[Josh Trank] strongly, without caveat, denied the story details that led to Slashfilm getting legal attention from Fox. "The only truth in that plot description is that there are four characters named Reed, Ben, Sue and Johnny," Trank told me. And he was pretty adamant. "You'll see in June of 2015," that the plot description is absolutely untrue." He also confirmed that @josh_trank is indeed his Twitter account, and is said to be extremely passionate about making the movie. What do you guys think? It should come as a relief to learn that there's no truth to that supposed story outline, but some actual details on the reboot seem to be much needed at this point...

I want to have faith in this film, a great director, and a great pick for JOhnny Storm, but the young cast bothers me. It would be much better if it was back home at MS.

Well at least the release date is locked down. The rest I'm sure they'll just throw together.

I wish WB did this for Batman VS Superman. Rumors can paint the wrong picture to people about your movie and I really like the fact Trank is just debunking them as fast as he can.

I'm an unapologetic fan of Marvel Studios and it's just a shame to know that the "First Family" is going to get a working over from Fox Studios...again. Years ago when the first film was being planned their was talk of having it actually take place in the 1960's with an aesthetic that was similar to Alex Ross's work on Marvels. It's too bad that they don't do that with this one. Why not have a corner of a shared universe take place during the 60's/70's? If anything, it would make mutants and the Fantastic Four seem much more amazing and fanatastical.

We haven't seen one thing from this movie and Josh Tank has already denied all those rumors. How about we all shut up and see something from the film first then make a decision.

Marvel [frick]ed up Iron Man and Thor? I honestly had no clue who Thor was UNTIL Marvel made a film about him.

When do the rights to this film expire so Marvel can have them back? At this point I believe Fox is too wound up with the X-Men franchise to really focus with the Fantastic Four. We've heard only rumors about this film which leads me to believe that the FF will pull a Daredevil and expire soon.

I LOVE MARVEL STUDIOS BUT Hank is a 60 year old spy apparently, Wanda and Pietro are not mutants and will likely have a very bad origin, The Mandarian was a fake actor (now marvel has to make it seem it was really a different plan all along), Ultron will not be created or even linked to Hank. no Wasp although she was a founding member of the avengers and part of what holds them together, the Norse Gods are aliens and the Infinity Gems are not really gems per say but very odd nebulous objects. Black Widow isn't Russian. Tony removes his chest piece, Paul Rudd as ant-man.

one rumor comes out about this movie

U Mad

Or.... the FF plays a role in the events of Days of Futures Past and they are trying to keep a super tite lid on it. I mean why not? Fox has no regard for the characters or story anyway so it wouodent be that bad or that far fetched.

Thing is, when Latino Review first posted that synopsis months ago, the SCREENWRITER denied that it was true. And it became one of the only dumb ass rumors that LR has ever retracted.

Now the DIRECTOR has had to debunk this shit twice more.

I love how everyone here finds their own reason to fuel their hatred for Fox.

Wait for announcements, not rumors, and then judge.

Most of you will hate anything they announce anyway because it's not marvel studios

Yeah, it'd be a shame for them to go back to Marvel.
