Anna Kendrick ("Pitch Perfect") plays Cinderella in Disney’s fairy tale musical, Into the Woods. Her character isn't sure she wants to settle down with her Prince (Chris Pine). But who could blame her? He's only handsome, rich and charming. She could totally do better. Maybe she could find someone sincere. That might keep the maiden from running away. Check out the clip and the featurette below to see more of Kendrick as Cinderella.

“Into the Woods” is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy)—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife (James Corden & Emily Blunt), their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch (Meryl Streep) who has put a curse on them.

Rob Marshall, the talented filmmaker behind the Academy Award®-winning musical “Chicago” and Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” helms the film, which is based on the Tony®-winning original musical by James Lapine, who also penned the screenplay, and legendary composer Stephen Sondheim, who provides the music and lyrics. Produced by Marshall, John DeLuca, “Wicked” producer Marc Platt and Callum McDougall.

Disney's "Into The Woods" is in cinemas January 2015

Musicals aren't my thing, but I have no ill will toward this movie, I hope it does well with its target audience.

Emily Bett Rickards didn't shy away from the Fapocalypse. You think that nudie of her was exclusively for her boyfriend and not our eyes? Poppycock....is the onomatopoeia I'd give for the noise my penis made that night.

Guarantee this won't be a flop. The musical has a HUGE fan base, and though it might look like your run-of-the-mill dark fairy tale, it is a really powerful piece of art. The cast is phenomenal, and the show will work even better as a movie. There are about 40 songs in this, so it's not a "light" musical.
And the music is written by Stephen Sondheim, who writes absolutely beautiful music. This stuff seems timeless and yet modern at the same time. His work is notoriously difficult to sing, yet sounds effortless. True talent.

Also, the amount of death in act 2 rivals Harry Potter 7.
Hahaha it gets very dark and has a really powerful message behind it. Hoping for some Oscar noms for this one.
If you like musicals even a little, this is one worth checking out, I believe.
