Yesterday we got our first look at Dwarves Dori, Nori, and Ori for Perter Jackson's upcoming prequel to The Lord Of The Rings, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Now Yahoo has gotten a hold of a second photo which features Dwarves Oin and Gloin played by John Callen and Peter Hambleton respectively.

Once again we are provided with a description of the two characters:

Distant cousins of Thorin Oakenshield, these two doughty Northern Dwarves join the Company out of a sense of loyalty to their kin, and also because they have a substantial sum of money invested in the venture. Along with Bombur, Gloin is the only other married Dwarf in the Company (there being a shortage of female dwarves in general). His wife is an acclaimed beauty with a particularly fine beard. Gloin is the proud father of a young son, Gimli, who will go on to become part of the famous Fellowship of the Ring.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will hit theaters on December 14, 2012

Nice, but these dwarves look a little more elaborate then i had imagined. I always thought they'd look a little more ...rustic? gritty? idk...

The dwarves attire kinda reflect the age when things were still pretty good going for them. Before the darker periods of the fourth age where they begin to loose affiliations and grandeur. When you read the Silmarillion you find out they were never meant to exist in the first place nor be part of the legacy of Middle Earth.

This looks better than the last picture, where the dwarves looked like plastic dolls...

Gloin looks great. Yo can really tell that he's Gimli's father here.

Cool, Gloin reminds me of the one in Battle for Middle-earth 2 (despite the hair, of course)

BTW, @valeriesghost, they are just as Tolkien describes them as wealthy and proud of their heritage in the Iron Hills and Moria. Gimli is a fighter in lotr, not a noble like those in the first pics.

This looks a lot better than the previous dwarf pictures. So the lady dwarves have beards too? Why am I seeing one of these dwarf heads photoshopped on a hot female body? Lord, it's been a long week at work!

Im super pumped for this. Im glad that Peter Jackson stepped back in to do Bilbos story....it just wouldnt have been the same had Guillermo del Toro done the film(s). Speaking of....do we know if this will be another trilogy or is is just going to be a two parter?

Orcs and dragons beware, come next winter no shin will be left un-whittled. This is going to be awesome I love the book.

I am curious to see how it turns out, there are a lot of little people, I wonder if we will get any added main characters.

@astromerc...I was thinking the same thing :( These are publicity stills, so I expect the hair to be messy and traveled like in LOTR. Seems to be GDT inspired.
