Lionsgate has chosen a release date for Marcus Nispel's reimagining of Robert E. Howard's Conan the Barbarian in 3D, also known as Conan 3D. It will air in theaters on August 19th, 2011.


The film stars Jason Momoa in the title role as the mythical warrior with the cast rounded out by Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Ron Perlman, Said Taghmaoui and Rose McGowan.

Awesome, it looks like they aren't rushing the 3D process which can only bode well for the film....I'm still concerned about NISPEL, but it looks like good decisions are being made, especially him saying the film will be HARD-R.

I'm extremely optimistic about this film....can't wait for the trailer!

Damn it... I wanted to hate this after hearing out who they cast as Conan. Now, after seeing the pictures they released, I am starting to change my mind. I think a trailer would seal the deal about me being excited to see this!
