The most legendary Barbarian of all time is back this Summer. Having thrived and evolved for eight consecutive decades in the public imagination- in prose and graphics, on the big screen and small, in games and properties of all kinds- Conan's exploits in the Hyborian Age now come alive like never before in a colossal 3D action-adventure film.

A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.

Jason Momoa's role in Game of Thrones has sealed my approval of him. I will look the other way when he is in a less than stellar movie.

I liked the movie too. It is very difficult to make an awesome Sword & Sorcery movie. Conan the Barbarian was excellently made for the time (the Destroyer mostly sucked), 13th Warrior is another great one...there may be a few more that are slipping my mind, but many may "come up short" just because of the subject matter. If CGI is not used, the monsters/dragons will look like puppets....if CGI is used, they will look "fake." (yes...they are fake either way...but you know what I mean).

I like Jason Momoa as Conan and the movie was entertaining....not Oscar worthy, but what S&W film will get an Oscar right?....a good film that deserves a sequel.

@sarasatire...I have yet to see an HBO Game of Thrones episode, I keep hearing it is awesome. I am finishing A Dance with Dragons and wanted to finish the books before I saw the series.....but Jason IS Drogo!

Can't wait to watch the series...though most movies/series may fall short of "the books," the casting for Game of Thrones seems to be mostly spot-on.

You could cover that movie in gold, it wont make it better. Itll still be crap.

@IAM You won't be disappointed. Although the books ~are~ superior to the HBO series (i'd consider it nearly impossible for it to be otherwise), it was still very well done and engaging. Just as with the Lord of the Rings, the books will always be better than their movie adaptations due to the timeless depth of the writing, but the movies were still incredible and did a service to the source material.

And yes, Jason is indeed Drogo. He pulls it off flawlessly.

The movie wasn't great, but I enjoyed it. It was a much more accurate portrayal of Conan than the 80's film.

@ncreb Yes, I did love it :P I'll say it loud and proud.

It wasn't meant to be taken seriously, it was some mindless, bloody, violent fun.

I find this article really disturbing - think how long it's going to take for all those metal boxes to bio-degrade stuck in various global Landfills.

The flick was not near as bad as I had heard...which could have helped with my reaction. Going into a film thinking it will suck it usually a good idea.

IMO Conan The Barbarian was a fun bloody action adventure movie, and Jason Mamoa was a badass with awesome one liners."I will follow you to HEll!" Jason Mamoa is my pick for Kratos in a God of War movie.Jason Mamoa for Kratos FTW!!! Im buying this on Blu-Ray for sure.
