Geeked Week is here again, and Netflix has kicked-off the festivities with a first look at the poster for Damsel, which was originally supposed to debut this year, and has now officially been pushed back to 2024.

The fantasy adventure movie stars Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things, Enola Holmes) as a princess named Elodie, who believes all of her dreams have come true when she is betrothed to Prince Henry. However, she soon comes to realize that the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to a dragon to repay an ancient debt.

Elodie is abandoned in the fire-breathing beast's cave, and when it becomes clear that no knights in shining armour are coming to save her, she decides to take matters into her own hands and slay the lethal creature herself.

The poster sees Elodie looking more than a little distressed as she screams from the cave while the shadow of the dragon is cast over the entrance.

Damsel was helmed by 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, from a script by Dan Mazeau (Fast X). Brown also serves as an executive producer along with Mazeau, Robert Brown (Hell’s Kitchen), Mark Bomback (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), and Sue Baden-Powell (Alpha).

The movie also stars Jurassic World's Nick Robinson, Black Panther's Angela Bassett, Wonder Woman's Robin Wright, and Black Widow's Ray Winstone.

Aside from a promo image featuring Elodie wielding a sword (which you'll also find below) and a brief sizzle reel spotlighting the supporting players, we haven't seen much from Damsel, but the first trailer is set to be released on Saturday, so be sure to check back then.

For now, have a look at the poster, and let us know if you're planning to give the movie a shot when it arrives in Netflix next year.

"A dutiful damsel agrees to marry a handsome prince, only to find the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. Thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon, she must rely on her wits and will to survive."

Totally believable that a Milly Bob Brown can slay a dragon that probably destroys army’s of men.
You go gurl!

Definitely more believable that she could period nose demons to death.

I totally forgot this movie was even a thing, so I don't really mind it being delayed.

Also, I really think the character and the dragon are gonna be buddies at the end of the movie.

They're literally making a fantasy action movie just to critique the already over critiqued damsel in distress trope? Couldn't even be bothered to hide it in the title.

What's the sequel gonna be called, Bechdel?
